In Short – The black-lacquered, '80s decor has softened into the next century, while the restaurant keeps its promise as a reliable choice for a sophisticated dinner with a good bottle of wine, or after-work cocktails and live jazz. The well-dressed, 35-and-over crowd has no use for trendy--they come to eat and be pampered. The food's flavors and textures pair well in creations like perfectly fried oysters with bacon, roasted parsnips over cheddar grits and pistachio-crusted pork medallions.
best anywhere!!!!

my hubby and I went there for our 20th anniversary and was made to feel as though we were the only people in the restaurant. The service by Larry was outstanding, the food absolutely fantastic!!He saved a table for us in the jazz bar for after dinner entertainment by the amazing Begee Adair. What a wonderful night! We told our neighbors about and they went the following night and had the same wonderful experience. We'll be back again and again!
- Pros: Best food, wine, waiters, somelier
- Cons: NONE!!!!

Can anyone tell me if this is the type of place I can put on a good suit and enjoy some jazz without feeling like I'm over dressed? I'm 34 and just wanna find a nice atmosphere, free of hip-hop though I love it to the death, to relax and maybe have a conversation of substance with people who are willing to talk about more than Michael Jackson's death.
Too much attitude

My wife and I had been looking forward to visiting F. Scott's for some time. We decided to try out the bar. I spent five minutes trying to find a wine selection that was appealing and reasonably priced. When I told the sommelier standing behind the bar that I wasn't knocked out by the selection, she made an indignant gesture, grabbed the wine list, and walked away. She then went out of her way to have loud conversations with other guests nearby around how she selects wines...conversations that my wife and I were very clearly meant to hear.
It actually took several minutes for one bartender to get me a drink at one point, even after she'd taken my order. Of course, having her mother come to the bar was probably a distraction since she spent most of her time talking to her. I also overheard some slightly unexpected comments on other patrons there.
Disappointing and not what I expected given the reputation here in Nashville.
- Pros: Live Music
- Cons: Service Attitude
