Tips for Wild Oats Market

August 15, 2008

Full-service grocery features organic and natural foods and household products, all without preservatives, artificial flavors and colors or hydrogenated oils.. In Short
In addition to organic produce, dairy items, meats, fish and bulk foods, this national chain prides itself on a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan products, herbal and homeopathic remedies, dietary supplements and full-service seafood, meat, cheese and deli counters. Those looking for specialty products such as wheat-free baked goods, free-range bison steaks or anything soy-based won't be disappointed.

wild oats doesn't promote quick fix diet plans. actually a low carb diet is extremely unhealthy and does not by any means allow for a sustainable and healthy life style. I mean how long are you really going to stay on a low-carb diet, the rest of your life? 100% whole wheat bread products, grains such as brown rice, quinoa, etc. are all extremely healthy and honestly carboydrates are apart of the building blocks of energy, muscle mass etc and therefore very important for your health and well-being. Wild Oats Market does not promote quick fix diets plans that are proven to be bad for your health. I believe Wild Oats needs more competition from other natural foods grocery stores like fresh market, and now whole foods so that they might be forced to lower their prices, but besides that they do a good job and there message is new and fresh. They are raising the bar for other grocery stores

c'mon, it's Green Hills, whaddya expect. Lotta totally hot and very healthful chicks shop there, lotta eye candy. At the bulk bins, they're constantly out of the large bags. Pretentious cheeses galore. Best peppered-eye-of-round (deli beef) around. Produce selection varies dramatically, but is always fresh (okay, bright green bananas are a little TOO fresh). Basic staple goods can be even more expensive than Harris Teeter, but everything's organic including toilet cleaners, so isn't that, like, y'know, s'posed to be really great or something, isn't it, like? If you write your check for cash-over, they ALWAYS forget to give you the cash and you have to remind them. Pleasant flower-children as staff, and plenty of them always around and willing to help. It's not quite what the old Sunshine Grocery was, but these days nothing ever will be again.

Overpriced Health Foods. Eating healthy has never cost so much. If you shop at the larger Kroger stores you can find the exact same brand of organic products for 1-2 dollar less per item...to me that really adds up..

Also, there are very few low carbohydrate products. It's as if a low carb diet is "unhealthy" in the eyes of Wild Oats.
