Liked it. loved it wantmoreofit. A catchy little place that should rebuild the park despite the rumors of politically incorrect species.
Best Free Attraction Nominee??.
Not exactly free here, folks. This place is great. I would recommend everyone coming to Nashville see the conservatories. But at $7.00 to park, this ain't free. Cheap, maybe, but not free.
And while the rooms are clean, they are very expensive for what you get. You're paying for the atmosphere.
Tropical Paradise in TN. I love Opryland, especially in winter when everything cold and dreary outside. Stayed one weekend. The room was nice and had a balcony looking over Delta area. Especially love the restaurant that is open near check in. They have a seafood buffet certain nights. I also took my brother there when he visited. Now when he comes to visit, he always wants to go there. He tried to book a group, but had no help w/ group bookings. Called several times but no help. No wonder bookings are slow when trying to book 10 rooms for a group and special event for my brothers car club!?! Otherwise impeccable service everywhere else. Instead parking for $6, I valet for $12 dont have to search for car. Impresses our guest from out of town when we valet. And I always hear they never expected a hotel to be so beautiful in Tennessee.
Where to Park!. As far as parking goes, everytime we visit, we park in the mall area and walk to the hotel. It isn't far and best of all, It's FREE! It's an awesome hotel and I would recommend just walking through it if you are in Nashville. And if you have children, drive over to Opry Mills (mall) and take them to the "Rainforest Cafe" for lunch.
Over Priced and Under Serviced. My sister (maid of honor) and I stayed at Opryland the night before my wedding. The bell-hop said if they took our luggage it would be in the room by the time we got checked in. We checked in and went to our room, no luggage. My sister called the bell-hop desk and it started ringing, I took a shower, she was still waiting for an answer, so I took the phone and she showered. Still no answer. I put my dirty clothes back on went to the front desk, found the bell-hop, found our luggage, then carried it to the room myself. While I was on the elevator to the room my sister called and said she had just gotten through!!!! Talk about service???? We were an hour late to the rehersal and were VERY UNIMPRESSED with the hotel in general. Would NOT recommend it to ANYONE!
Lots to Do!. After just visiting the hotel, we decided to splurge and actually spend a couple of nights there. We were not disappointed. There were two days of activities either within the hotel or nearby. The food was just average at all of the restaurants, but it was a beautiful hotel and fun to have so many options in one location. The staff was very friendly and courteous and the room was spacious.
Great time at Opryland. My husband and I are from St. Louis, Missouri and stayed at the Opryland Hotel over Memorial Day weekend. What a great place! We had no problems whatsoever, had a very nice room overlooking the gardens, and an overall outstanding time. We would recommend this hotel based on our positive experience.
A novelty. Opryland Hotel is kind of neat, I guess, with the big atrium that feels like you're in the middle of a big outdoor garden. But it's hardly worth traveling to Nashville for. The city has some really cool attractions--a big gaudy over-the-top hotel is not one of them.
