Every city has places that only the locals know about. International Market, in business since 1975, represents one of Nashville's little secrets. Both a Thai/Asian grocery store and cafeteria-style restaurant, it makes a great spot for dine-in or takeout. Right next to Belmont University, the eatery feeds many students. There's standard Thai items with a few Americanized items thrown in. Customers can opt for pad thai noodles or plain chicken soup.

My father has been going there since it opened. He took me for the first time when I was 4 and I have gotten the exact same thing ever since. The people are so friendly, it's in a hip neighborhood and the food is good and cheap. The spicy chicken sticks, vegetable egg rolls, fried rice, and bamboo shoots with chicken curry is the most amazing combo ever. And throw in a big bottle of papaya juice. It's the bomb. Locals Only please.

Love International market! The food is fantastic and always very fresh. The staff is very very friendly. There is always something new to check out.
