Still good, but slipping. It has been 3 years since I reviewed Cousers. The food is still on most occasions good. The service is still friendly. They haven't made a lot of changes made to the place and it is begining to show. No changes have been made to the menu (except for the prices) and it shows. Many favorites have been taken off the menu.

There is a saying ;"If it works, don't fix it" doesn't apply here. Occasionally, the food is not good. Occasionally the wait is too long! Business is falling off so much on some nights they close off half of the restaurant. They are understaffed on many occasions and it shows.

The owners and management need to update and improve this place or Norman Cousers Country Cooking will soon become a memory.

That would be a shame!

Disappointing experience altogether. Went with a friend who promised home cooking at reasonable prices but found the vegatable servings tepid and the fried chicken both tough and dry. Worse, after mentioning my disappointment to my wife, she voice suprise that I would have eaten there in the first place.

Seems she took one of her new agents there for lunch a few years back and couldn't even get seated. He happened to be black and, after waiting half an hour, she asked what the problem was only to be told they were full - though empty tables were clearly visable and several folks had been seated who arrived well after the bride began waiting.

Now that's what I call really poor taste.

A great place all the way around!!. The first time I ever ate at Cousers I was amazed at the way I was treated! They made me feel like I was sitting at home with my entire family sitting around me. Then the great homecooked food came out to the table and it was wounderful! My servers name was Amy and she was just as down home and country as the food. She really made sure I had everything I needed. I also am a server and the people I work with dont compair!!! I will definatly be back to eat soon!!!

good service & filling but lacking flavor. First trip today for lunch. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the smell of my Aunt's homecooking from Alabama, however my one buddy commented that it seemed musty to him. Oh well, maybe the place hasn't recovered from years of being a smoker's paradise. Point is, the smell took me back. After winning a bet that they do take credit cards and arguing that sweet cornbread is actually what Yanks prefer, I decided to order the turkey and dressing, greens and okra. All was good but relatively bland. If you like the true flavor of vegetables, this is the place. I think I could actually taste the red clay in the turnip greens. God I love fatback and missed it here. Service was great even though one friend lost control over not getting enough of the southern style cornbread. The food caused us to talk about school lunch for 20 mins - wierd.
