VERY POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES!!! I purchased a Groupon for 8 hours of handyman services from Handyman Connection. The guy who came out brought a helper and the two of them took turns pressure washing my deck. The helper left cigarette butts laying on the window sill and when my wife came home, our swimming pool ping pong table was broken. When I asked the contractor about it, he got defensive and rude and offered to further damage the table with the pressure washer to show me how he couldn't have done it. He then reminded me of what a great deal I was getting and how he could have ripped me off. I ended up apologizing for accusing him of the damage, although I was really just asking about it, and he calmed down and went back to work. However, when he had me sign off on the bill and pay him, he told me he undercharged me by about $2000 and I was getting quite a deal. When he left, I walked around to the back of the garage to check out the job and noticed there was stain splashed on my already broken ping pong table.

At this point I called the owner and he said he would come evaluate the incident. He showed up and before he even took a good look said he didn't know how stain could have ended up on the ping pong table. We had to line up the table to the line of stain in the grass to show him how it landed--it was like playing CSI, and he really didn't seem to want to hear what we were saying. For the next week I played phone tag with him, and when he called me today, he told me that he had no way of knowing who was responsible for the ping pong table damage but he was "willing to give me the benefit of the doubt." Then, he said he looked over the labor cost of the contractor and the 4 other people he brought out and said that I owed him another $1380 for the job that had been done and paid for already based on a signed estimate, and that he would take the cost of the ping pong table off of that.

Not only am I never, ever dealing with this company again, I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. This company is the reason people hate contractors.

PS On the other hand, Groupon was fabulous and refunded the purchase of this really crappy groupon for us and apologized for our bad experience.
