Beware. Food was OK but it made us sick later. They would not issue a refund, and would not listen to any of our concerns.
Blending exotic spices and flavors perfectly, this cozy eatery is worth searching out..
This low-key, cement-block storefront is casual and comfortable, the kind of place that warms you up with both ambience and spice. Neighborhood locals and die-hard Thai fans fill the cozy room, as do fragrant aromas. The food is a balance of spicy, sweet, hot and salty dishes. A papaya salad with tomato, peanuts and spicy dressing is icy-hot. Red and green curry entrees are filled with your choice of meat, seafood or tofu.
Absolutely Wonderful. An absolute gem-Thai taste is the place to go for great Thai food. The building is simple, the parking and getting off/onto Haywood Lane can be tricky but what awaits you on the inside is worth it. Friendly staff greet you as you enter. The specials are posted as you walk in. From time to time we are treated to a free sample of a dish that the kitchen has developed for that evening. Our glasses never go empty, the food is delicious, staff is very attentive and food is always prepared quickly and correctly. You are certainly missing a real treat if you have not visited this place.
My wife and I popped into Thai Taste on Valentine's Day 2005 when we discovered that our first choice was not open. The food was appalling. We ordered the sampler appetizer, a duck curry special, and one of the shrimp dishes. The appetizer was greasy assortment of fried out-of-the box items. Entree sauces were thin and oily. The duck had skin and fat still on the meat. Vegetables appeared to have been merely warmed up in the sauce with no other preparation. Flavor pairings were odd--e.g. pineapple and tomato in curry.
The service was cheery but a bit slow. Our server couldn't recite the specials. Available wine was decent when compared with the other fare offered. The ambience is unremarkable.
In short, this is the worst Thai food we have experienced in Nashville (or anywhere else for that matter). Thai Taste is a place to be avoided.
Excellent Bargain. If you like Thai food this is the place. Food is excellent, great value for your money. Found this resturant through this web site. Not the fanciest place you will ever eat, but what it lacks in decor it more than makes up for in food. But I care more about the food than the window dressing of a resturant. Staff is friendly and polite, resturant is clean, price is reasonable. Must try the Yum Nuea salad with the lime dressing.
10. This is by far my favorite restaurant in Nashville! The food is great, the atmosphere is serene, and the service is wonderful. It's small enough to have a lot of personality. We go there often with our small children, and are very pleased that they *don't* offer the typical kid's menu fare. I love that my kids get to eat pad thai and kao pad without being tempted by chicken nuggets. Our kids love the food here!
