Tips for Animal House

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. On top of that their vet care is deplorable and prices high. Please...do not take your dog to this vet.

In spring of 2001, the clinic was bought by Dr. Herd and the clinic is just fabulous. Dr. Herd is one of the best vets I have ever been to and since she has taken over ownership of the business everything about the clinic is improved. Their prices have not changed as a result but many improvements have been made including the addition of a new wonderful veterinarian, Dr. Heckle. I have moved all my pets to this clinic and have been nothing but pleased with their care.

Animal House Vet. We love the changes at this clinic. The new owner has not changed prices and the care our animals get is just as good as the high prices places that charge twice as much. The only bad experience was with the younger vet who wasn't very clear on her diagnosis and we actually didn't know she was a vet until we questioned our charge for a vet visit. Maybe she is just new and doesn't have the confidence and knowledge level. The older man we saw on our second visit was great. Explained exactly what was going on and what we could expect. We highly recommend taking your animals here.

Buying cheap will cost your animal dear. The new owner is very happy to gouge holes in your pocketbook for you for a very long wait. I guess the customers are expected to pay for all the fancy improvements. If you do decide to take your animal here, I would advise that you speak to the nice doctor instead of the owner (who just thinks she's a vet). I don't think vet clinics owned by non-vets are a good idea at all. In this case, the owner seems to believe that she BOUGHT a DVM along with the clinic. If you ask one of the assistants for advice, she will butt in and gainsay whatever the technician is attempting to tell you. A very bad vibe there, really. Your animal is too important to leave to the dubious sanity/ethics of this owner. The cost is low: you get the care you pay for.

dont let the new owner fool you. I loved abcc for years. I would go no place else. Dr goldston worked magic and it was nothing for her and her staff to go out of their way to find what ever you needed and at the righ price too. When they brought on a new young doctor named cardona it was all downhill from there. She wanted to charge lots of money for unnecessary tests every time i walked in the door. honestly i think she saw $$$ when she looked at me. Not to mention she struggled with simple things like "male" and "female". If you requested to see another doctor you would have to wait hours just to find that they have been sitting on the butts in the office in spite of you. I could go on about this doctor and her tactics forever but i have only been given 2000 characters. Be warned -- I believe she left this clinic to go work at another. The receptionist is loud, rude, and unintelligent to boot.

This clinic is now under new managementand has changed the name to animal house. It is way more expensive and like the clinice before them love to charge you for "tests" that you dont need. and $25 for a 2 second doctor visit. this place is a joke and i dont reccomend that anyone go here.

If you care for the health of your pet, do not get her spayed here!. My dog, who was a rescue dog, was spayed here before we got her. A year later, she developed complications. Three follow-up surgeries later confirmed that this clinic used the wrong kind of suture. For over a year, the sutures were festering in her body and infecting her. She could have easily died. We had to take her to one of a handful of vet specialists in the country to save her. And...when I asked Dr. Goldston to at least pay for the follow-up surgeries, she said that the suture they used was "good professional standard of care". The vet specialist totally disagrees. They used a suture that is only to be used on outside skin wounds--but they used them on the inside of her! I am continuing the fight. I do not want to see any other dogs suffer and possibly die.

They treated this sweet, neglected rescue animal like a "throw-away" dog. Deplorable!

Budget care, pet-focused, community-oriented.. Some folks expect red carpet treatment wherever they go and consider any inconvenience an insult. With a budget-oriented clinic like this one, there are no compromises on pet care. Their staff is conscientious and caring, but they work with limited resources. Why? Because they provide pet care at prices that encourage people to make certain the animals that love them unconditionally get the health care they need.

It's that half-full or half-empty picture. If they had greater resources, they could do more. But to have those greater resources, they'd have to charge more. If they charged more, then there are some people who wouldn't take their pet to the vet.

The clinic is clean. The doctors and staff are courteous and caring. They could have set up shop anywhere in Nashville and charged higher rates. Instead, they choose to serve an underserved population - not just people with budgets, but the pets of people whose money is tight.

I give them a 9 for service and a 10 for heart.

Not a good way to run a business!!. After hearing all sorts of good things about this place....(ha) I have just had the utmost worse experience at this clinic. I had an appt to get my dog spayed, and they cancelled the day before, then rescheduled for a week later, thus 2 days before trying to cancel again, explained that I really needed this appt., receptionist said not a problem they would find someone else to reschedule, so I show up for my appt and they tell me im not on the books that they cant help me! I was FURIOUS! then the dr comes out and says oh we cant spay your dog because we dont have the right Suture? Come on give me a break, you should have had it a week ago! BEWARE of the Lies, I will definately not reccomend nor will I return to this place!

Quick and Painless. We started going to the ABCC because they are a budget clinic, but we've returned for all our pet needs. The facility is small and gets busy on Saturday mornings, but you never have to wait longer than 30 mins in the walk-in clinic. The nursing staff is quick and knowledgeable. We dropped our precious pup to be neutered and picked him up the same day with no complications. We will continue going to them for all our veterinary needs.
