Founded in 1953 as a hamburger-and-root-beer stand, this nostalgic eatery is known for its intercom ordering system and roller-skating carhops. While servers rarely roller skate anymore, the famous made-to-order, all-beef burgers and thick malts are still menu favorites. Other signature items include Toaster sandwiches (made with thick Texas toast), extra-long chili and cheese hot dogs and hand-battered onion rings and tater tots. Desserts include chocolate, vanilla and strawberry shakes and fresh fruit slushes.

Pro and Con. Great place to eat, but sad that Nashville's top 10 contains very average fast food chains.

More of a reflection on the poor quality of the city than the food.

Have it the Sonic Way..mmmm ur way. Sonic is delivering your hot delicious made to order food right out to your car. Whether your in the mood for a hot juicy hamburger and the freshly battered onion rings or a cool treat, maybe that malt you remember as a child...this is the place to eat when you are on the go. I have to say they serve up THE BEST FAST FOOD.

Sonic Drive-Ins are HOT!!!. Sonic Drive-Ins are the best ever! The employees are so friendly and quick. The food is delicsious!!! Try it. Sooooooooo GOOD!!!!!

Fun Eats. Sonic is always great in the summertime for a fun atmosphere with the family. Service is, for the most part, quick and friendly. Love the summer treats..
