In Short
The dining room is small, given the size of the building, and shares its space with a staging kitchen and buffet. Small booths line the room, each topped with Cajun staples: File powder for the gumbo, and several varieties of Louisiana hot sauce for everything else. Heaping plates of crawfish etoufee and shrimp Creole stock the menu. There are also daily vegetables and weekly specials: Cajun fried catfish on Tuesdays and barbecue chicken on Thursdays.

Bro's Cajun Cuisine, huh. What a joke. First off, the wait staff was terrible, never seated us, never offered us menus, got the order wrong, and reminded us to leave a tip! The food was very expensive for what you got. $10 for a Po Boy with 5 shrimp is insane. The cajun was not very cajun, just overpriced and in a filthy environment. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I went here with my mom and brother hoping for some yummy cajun food. It may have been the worst meal I've ever had in my six years of living in Nashville. The service was slow and unfriendly, the food wasn't particularly appetizing, and the prices were totally unreasonable. I agree with the other poster that this place would probably have trouble passing inspection. No ambiance, nothing to like about the place.

If you're looking for authentic New Orleans-style fare, THIS is the place to go. You won't find fancy digs -- quite the opposite -- but you DO get fresh, homemade red beans and rice, stellar gumbos, steaming po' boys and some of the best fried potatoes this side of grandma's house. If you're looking to satisfy a craving for Cajun, skip the fancy alternative(s) and head for Charlotte Ave. You won't be disappointed.
