In Short – Illusion is one-stop shopping for the highly stressed. Sip tea and snack on muffins in the morning, followed by an herbal steam shower and a complete body massage. Then freshen up from head to toe with a facial and a spa pedicure. Ladies, don't miss out on the makeup application and color consultation. There's a gourmet lunch and a to-go bag of product samples to keep up your appearances as well.
bad brow wax, worse attitude!
by stacystacystacy
I don't like to throw out names but if you get a brow wax ask for someone older. I had never been there for a wax and I just went with the person with the prettiest name. :) She turned out to be a very young girl who was not properly trained. She pulled the strip very very hard and tore the skin. She then said that she was just going to put something like Sodium Dioxide (?) on it. So...salt in my wound? I know it was some sort of sodium product. When I called the salon, they put her on the phone and she blamed me and asked what I wash with or applied to it. She blamed a chemical reaction to a retinol product. I told her I don't use anything like that. She said that it was fine if I wanted my money refunded but encouraged me to tell people that I have sensitive skin and left the phone by saying, "good luck". Everybody's eyelids are sensitive!!! I intend to go back tomorrow and not just get my money back but show them how she scarred me.
first time in 30 years I have been treated like an equal at one of these places

Not only do they treat you like an equal, but they make you feel special. They kept raving about my hair which is just a big fat naturally curly aka mat-prone mop. Not only was my hair stylist, Barbara, very nice, but she came out to greet me, showed me where to go, came and got me as soon as the shampoo girl was done, and at the end showed me the way out, and I was not wandering around like an idiot in a house of mirrors. She also made some suggestions and charged me a fair price. And she enabled me to do my good deed for the day by asking me if I wanted to donate nine inches of my hair to the Vanderbilt program that makes wigs for children with cancer.
I could count on one hand the number of times I have been in a beauty parlor since I was a kid. I am VERY uncomfortable in places like this, and I need my hair stylist to make me feel comfortable. In the past I always end up with snotheaded young girls, the kind who treated me like dirt in school, and I stay away from these places for years and attempt to cut my hair myself. I am grateful to finally find a place I can finally go and not dread going.
BEWARE!
by bc1212
BEWARE! I was charged $75 for the single worst hair cut of my life. It is uneven and reminds me of a SuperCuts/Great Clips hair cut, except 3 times the price. AWFUL! It was just a simple trim and was completely uneven.
In addition, the overall quality of the salon was not up to par for charging such expensive prices. It was dirty. There was hair dye on the walls, old hair on the ground, and the guy who shampooed my hair had just been picking his teeth 2 seconds before washing my hair. It was a gross experience that my hair will never forgive me for.
They have a policy where you can come back and the person who did your hair will fix it for you for free. The stylist was so bad I won't even do that. I'm going to go pay some other salon to fix what this salon messed up.
If you are brave enough to go to this salon, be sure you know who is cutting your hair. If they are Illusion employees, their prices are much cheaper ($40-$45), but if you go to someone who is just renting space there (I didn't find out until afterwards that this is the case) their prices are MUCH more expensive ($75-$80) and probably more dicey service.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: Poor Service, AWFUL Quality, Expensive and Poor Atmosphere
