This White Bridge Road landmark has been going strong since the 1980s, and there's nothing trendy about it. Red-checked tablecloths, exposed-brick walls and a hopping, saloon-style bar appeal to the crowd of regulars who come for a decent meal and no surprises. "Award-winning" baby back ribs are bathed in a rich sauce. Spinach-artichoke dip, a fern-bar standby, is great with pre-dinner cocktails.

Ok restaurant with adequate service. The ribs are good, but not great. The location is very handy off of west end near target on white bridge road. If you are looking for a quick meal this is a must

I've eaten there several times. I usually am part of a group of people, numbering between 6 and 15. I look forward to the day when the Calhoun's owners invest in some soundproofing. My only criticism of the place is that my ears are ringing by the time we leave. It is very noisy -- but not caused by guests shouting. It is caused by the surface of the walls and ceiling... highly sound reflective. It really is bad. I am scheduled to meet with my group, at Calhoun's, this coming Friday, September 7. I may not go just because of the noise level. ... and... for the record, it isn't just me and my ears...Calhoun's is widely known for this noise problem. The food is great, the service very good. Go. ...but be forewarned. MIke

This is one of the few places I will even eat ribs ! I've been going here for years.
