In Short
Neon and pastel distract drivers for several miles in either direction, but beyond that flash, Hollywood 27 offers a top-of-the-line cinematic experience. Multiple concession stands make purchasing your nachos easier than ever, and the combination of stadium seating, high-quality sound and retractable armrests provide a comfortable, entertaining setting. The highback chairs even offer lumbar support, and the cupholders do in fact hold the large drinks.

Please try to be a little more compassionate about the rudeness of the staff at the movie theater. I have been in retail for years, and I know how hard it is to work with a "skeleton crew." It gets very stressful and hectic trying to help every customer. Plus we have to work longer hours if someone calls out sick. That really drains mine and other people's energy. Plus with the economy the way that it is, the theater is probably on a hiring freeze due to their budget. Please try to look at it from their perspective and walk a mile in their shoes. Thank you.

I used to love to see movies at the Hollywood 27 (next to 100 Oaks Mall), but management must have changed this year. Over the course of this year, it has gotten so run down you would think they have not cleaning staff. The smaller staff is not a friendly as they used to be and sometimes even openly rude. I know 100 Oaks is undergoing big changes. I can only hope that the theater gets some attention also. It is not longer my first choice for where to see movies. If it improves, I will be back.

My wife and I have gone to the Hollywood 27 at least one or two times a week for the last couple years. I love the convenience (close to us, anyway), the size of the place, and the wonderful tackiness of the neon facade. You feel like you're really "going out" when you line up at the Hollywood. :) Unfortunately, the quality of the experience has steadily deteriorated - especially over this last year. The theaters are rarely clean. Obnoxious, loud people (and their babies) seem to behave worse and worse at the Hollywood, which is really frustrating when you're paying $9.50 for a ticket! Why in the world would anyone take a two-year-old (or younger) child to an R-rated movie? Not to mention, we've had at least three bad audio/video experiences there over the past year; sound has been missing in parts, focus is off on projector, frame is misaligned with the screen, etc. I'm tired of having to get up and find an employee to help correct the situation, and I don't like being embarrassed to invite my friends to a movie at the Hollywood, afraid that some idiot will ruin the experience for everyone. Anyway, we're still going there occasionally, but we often head elsewhere - Thoroughbred 20 or another - to avoid the dirtiness and the distractions of the Hollywood 27.
