Ok, so this place freaking rocks! The food and wine are amazing, but the wait staff and the art of Shon Hudspeth are out of this world. More cajun shrimp & grits please!!!!!

My Favorite Place!. Let’s just cut to the chase: This is the best restaurant in Nashville. I have eaten at Yellow Porch 5 times over the last year or so, and this hole-in-the wall is the only Nashville eatery I have ever been where everything, yes I said “everything”, I have eaten has been outstanding. That is odd, because there will usually be that one thing on occasion you get even at your favorite restaurant that you didn’t care too much about. You know, the dish came out a bit cool, something was over-seasoned, under cooked, bland, just okay, a bad idea, etc. Well, not so far with this place. There is no other place in Nashville I can say that about. Yellow Porch is flat-out awesome, every time, no matter what you order. I have had a sandwich, salads, appetizers, desserts, shrimp, salmon, pasta, and chicken. Results: Yum, great, amazing, high-5, delicious, wow, and slam dunk. You can taste that the chef cares about what he puts in front of you. He takes time on every dish prepared, it comes out hot, it comes out right, it comes out delicious, it comes out creative. Everything is good and never boring. Just open the menu and put your finger on the first thing you see, order it - you’ll love it.

Great Food, Neat Local Restaurant. Have been going to YP for several years and it's our favorite restaurant in the city area. The food is excellent and menu/specials change frequently. Our server Todd is personable and does a fantastic job!

I've tried just about everything on the menu and never disappointed. Celery/bleu cheese soup is great, I enjoy the fish entrees, pork chop and baked chicken w/smashed potatoes, and they always have a crafty dessert.

Always a satisfying experience and take note of the small garden when you pull in. You also never know who you might see dining there - we've run into several C&W musicians.

Staff Problem. I live near Yellow Porch and often go there with my family to relax and have a great meal. The food is always excellent and Shaun (wait staff) is a super nice guy and always a pleasure to deal with.

However, I have had a consistently bad experience with this one guy who often works as host and sometimes waits tables. He was the host tonight (2/20) and was so rude and combative that I left. I wish I knew his name so I could post it because he is a nightmare.

I don't want to let this one person steal my joy because I absolutely love Yellow Porch, but he is so rude I will have a hard time going there again.

A wonderful surprise. A coworker told me about this place. After reading the reviews I finally decided to make a reservation and go check it out. it was inlaws anniversary an they wanted to try something new. Arrived at the place and there was absolutely no place to park. The place was packed! (Arrive early). Parked on creepy little corner and walked from there. From the outside the place didn't look like much but as soon as we entered the charm and warthm became evident. It was such a cute little place that inmmediately understood why some other people thought it romantic. Our server Todd was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. I ordered the gnocchi and the paella and finished with the vanilla cremme brulee! It was all wonderful and fresh. My family had similar reactions to the food and service as well as the calm and welcoming environment. We will definitely visit again. Highly recomend this little piece of heaven!

amazing pork chop, questionable service. The first time we went here, it was amazing. The food anyway, and Shaun, our waiter was great. He was attentive and polite, kept our waters full, and seemed to enjoy his job. I believe a lot of their food is locally produced and the pork chop is the best I've ever had.

The most amazing food, however, can hardly make up for a crappy experience based on service. We ate at Yellow Porch again last night and felt like a burden to the hostess and our server. Maybe if I were starving, I wouldn't mind being treated poorly, but since I'm not and there are plenty of very good restaurants in Nashville, I don't think I'll be going back, and I doubt I'll recommend Yellow Porch as heartily as I recommended it before last night. This was the second time we were slighted by our server there. If you choose to go and have the chance to request a server, ask for Shaun or don't go.

Great option in 100 Oaks. Yellow Porch is a restaurant I could visit at least once a week during spring, summer and fall, and never get tired of it.

Great patio space (even though it overlooks Thompson Lane), great food (the Blue Cheese Celery Soup is wonderful, as well as the bread), great service (this is what Wild Iris SHOULD be doing).

My only advice is to get there EARLY. Otherwise, you'll be circling the non-existent parking lot forever, trying to snag a space.

Best Food, Best Service...Recommend for Personal or Business. I have been dining at the Yellow Porch for over two years. I have dined there for both business and pleasure. I must say they are one of the best places around town. The service is exceptional and the food is top notch. Whether it is only two of you or up to 20! The service is great. You will not be disappointed. I have customers/employee's talk about this place months later.

Best chef, server, and food anywhere around!!. I recently ate at The Yellow Porch for my 1st time. It most definitely won't be my last time to dine there. Food was some of the best I've ever had!, Chef Joey Lamb outdid himself! I hope they are paying him well! Wish I could afford him as my personal chef!! Appetizers were fantastic and so was the main course. Waiter/server Shaun did an excellent job also. Only downsides was that we almost drove right by the restaurant missing seeing the tiny sign outside. But main complaint is that the place was too dimly lit. Food that delicious , should be SEEN as well as tasted!! Needed a flashlight to see!!!!! Turn up the lights folks!! Those of you that haven't been to Yellow Porch should certainly try it out. You won't be disappointed!!
