This salon used to be pretty right on. Not anymore. Its a joke. The girls mope around and look like zombies. The owner talks trash about every single client and her staff. She literally sits on a stool all day and talks about everyone. I feel bad for her poor assistants. She treats them like dogs, worse than dogs. And dont even get me started on he front desk. The cubby kid just stands around looking clueless, the older woman cant see her hand in front of her face and is constantly talking about things that make no sense. The vampire (as the lady below me said) is running around looking like a chicken with its head cut off. She always look like her backs hurt. She stretching and bending and in general looks unhappy. Her back prob hurts because shes a giant and is bent over the desk all day. Theres not even stools! Those poor people have to stand all day behind a desk that doesnt even fit them. Raise it up...something. Hello...OSHA! They would shut her down in 2 seconds if they came in there. The other chubby kid and the vampire are always apologizing for something the other did. (prob cause she cant see) The walls are 17 different colors and not pretty colors. There a giant hole in the wall in the bathroom. No plants or cool art. As for the stylist as I said they look unhappy. Id be unhappy if my boss talked crap all day about me too. She yells at them accross the salon if she thinks they are doing something wrong. Ive seen it. Its got to be embarrassing. I liked my girl when I first started getting my hair cut there, she rubbed my head, we laughed and I got a good cut. Now she seems like she rather watch grass grow. I wont be back.I think the owner sucks the life out of them. Ive seen sooooooo many people come and go. They all start off happy, then end up walking around in a daze. I feel like you should build a team up and give them what they need to grow. Not talk about them, yell at them, and make them work in a bad environment. Im talking my money elsewhere from now on.…
The RUDEST receptionists..
No exaggeration, the receptionist (the one that looks like a vampire or the woman who starred in "Girl With a Dragon Tattoo"...take your pick) is the rudest person I have ever had to deal with when
booking an appointment for any type of salon service. In fact, all of the receptionists are pretty arrogant and unfriendly (you answer phones and greet people for a living...it's not brain surgery), but she is just AWFUL. Who in their right mind would put someone like that in a position of customer service?
You're salon is in Nashville, not New York City. Stop putting people who think that being rude makes them cosmopolitan out front or you'll continue to lose customers. I see you didn't win any awards this year. You might want to take some practice from the competition. People are paying good money to be treated with courtesy. Your stylists are good, but not so good that I need to tolerate b.s. every time I try to book an appointment or go to get my hair done.
I'm going to Elan. They're receptionists are actually pleasant. Shocker!…
Kim is the most talented colorist to have ever lived. I really can't say enough nice things about this place. I have been seeing Kim (who owns the shop) for over 8 years now, and she is truly remarkable. I have blonde hair and she does the most fabulous 2-3 color foil highlights. The condition of my hair always looks even better after the process. I have brought at least 3 out of town guests in to try Kim over the years, and all of them now make pilgrimages to Nashville to get their hair done at True Blue. She has been written up in a bunch of magazines and I have heard she works miracles fixing color mistakes made at other salons. It's also a beautiful state of the art salon and a really convenient location. Highly recommended!!…
Great colorist!. I chose True Blue because I had a hot mess of a color job done to my hair. I called the salon in a panic on a Saturday morning, and at first the girl at the front desk told me they couldn't fit me in, but was very accommodating once I explained the extent of my botched and bleached hair. Jessica did an amazing color job and was very patient with my thick and long mane of hair. She even gave me a super cute cut without seeing a picture and with just my vague rambling to guide her. I definitely got one of the best haircuts and color I've had in years from Jessica, and will totally go back.…
I'm true blue to True Blue. Once upon a time, I had a HORRIBLE color experience at another salon which will remain nameless as I'm just not that kind of person. I was referred to Kim (the owner of TB) by a friend who works for Aveda. I was pretty frantic when I called. I have very fair skin, and my then naturally red hair had turned black at the other salon, and the stylist refused to fix it, blaming it on my porous hair. I called Kim. It was a Saturday late afternoon, the salon was closing in 5 minutes, but she heard the panic in my voice and had me come in. She did a color test, and we both walked over and had manicures at a little nail shop in Park Place. When we finished, we went back to her shop, she rinsed my hair, and fixed my color that day. Needless to say, the salon had been closed for over an hour by that time. That was about eight years ago, I think. I'm still going there, I'm always happy with my hair, and I love that I have enough of a personal relationship with them that when I walk in, they always have a nice hot cup of coffee waiting for me. Keep it up, guys....I'll be there!…
