The ORIGINAL GOLDEN BOOT, INC. HE IS STILL THE GREATEST! - I SEND HIM ALL MY WORK AND SHIPPING IS WORTH THE GREAT REPAIRS!
ONE MORE LETTER ABOUT THE GOLDEN BOOT SHOP.
Many fans and former customers of Golden Boot were lied to their faces lately when they stopped by the shop and asked to see Zam - the former owner; they were told by the new owner Mr. Oh that 'Zam is on break' - but in reality Zam was not there anymore - he got out of working for the abusive and ignorant Mr. Oh. Mr. Oh charged outrageous rates for repair that Zam used to do for free, and because of his inablility to perform decent repair on anything - former customers (hundreds and hundreds of them) stopped coming for services. Mr. Oh ruined a flourishing business, and now his son is spreading nasty lies about Zam. What a pity!
Zam is not Russian - he is as American as an American apple pie; you need to learn from him to love America for the freedom and endless opportunities this country offers - not what making big bucks. And you better educate yourself not to be a bigot - our country does not permit that.
GOLDEN BOOT - THE TRUE STORY !!. I cannot believe that this site was picked to play a hate/blame game by the person who had written a previous review. The former owner of the Golden Boot, a wonderful craftsman and a respectable citizen of Nashvile for 32 years, had served the Nashville comunity and surrounding states for 26 years providing an excellent service with his exceptional skills. After he sold the business in March 2008 to Mr. Oh - a newcomer from Korea - he worked for him for 12 more months trying to help him to learn the business and the skills. Unfortunately, Mr.Oh did not want to learn anything, and was there just to collect the daily earning, and he did not stay to get to learn ANYTHING else. During these 12 months Mr.Oh - himself an immigrant being in the country less than 10 years - called Zam 'Russian' and tried to belittle him in any other way. Finally Zam could not take it anymore, and by mutual agreement with Mr.Oh he stopped working for him. Mr.Oh - by his own wish - was left alone to lead the business he knew NOTHING about; his English is very limited, and his attitude not adjusted to the American custom to serve the public honestly and politely - NO WONDER he is BITTER and ANGRY. Any blame for the said 'lies' are false because Mr.Oh and his attorney inspected all papers and income for 3 past years, and he was very happy with the figures. Zam has all the numbers for the last year while he worked for Mr. OH, and he can publish them - with Mr. Oh permission. Mr. Oh needs to stop his racial blaming and start learning how to operate business in our GREAT country. Shame on you, Mr.Oh, for your bigotry and hate!
New Management.
Alright. I see all the nasty comments about this place
The previous owner Zam, Russian guy owned it.
He was extremely rude, and had an ugly temper
He lied to my dad about the gross income of the store and business.
My dad believed him, and bought the business.
Now my dad is left with a scanty business
But let me tell you. He is an Honest man, and he cares for his customers and treats his customer's items as if they were his. Meaning he will do extra work just to fix things here and there for no charge.
So as I've said. This is under new management. Come with any of your problems with Shoes, purses, luggage, and my dad will do his best.
Thank you everyone.
Quick, reliable, quality repair.
The store is hidden away in a corner, and I only found it through a recommendation from Nashville Trunk & Bag. I had a designer bag that needed a minor strap repair, and I couldn't bear to send the bag to the designer for 6 weeks. This place saved me! They handled my bag with respect, fixed the rivet, and had it back to me on the promised day. Because my original rivet was broken, they replaced it with one of their own; the match is so close that you can barely tell it's been replaced.
If I ever need bag repairs again, I'll be back!
See "rude" in Websters Dictionary. There is absolutely no reason for a businessman to treat his clientele as I was treated by this repairman. If you look up "rude" in the dictionary you will see this man's face. He presents the impression that he is performing one a great favor by accepting advance money and subsequently treats you like trash. Politely checking back on a project some weeks later (being promised a few days turnaround), I was verbally berated like a mischievious youngster for making the call. Eventually received the item back which was repaired in an average manner. Unless you cannot find someone else, and the project is vital, I would not darken the door of the Golden Boot.
Luggage Nasi (Can't use the real word on this site).
I would compare the owner to that of the Soup Nasi from Seinfeld. Do NOT question his work. I took my suitcase to have the zipper fixed. The teeth of the zipper were beginning to separate and it was also separating from the bag (about an inch in length). He charged $20 up front and he takes cash only. I now know why b/c it leaves you with no recourse. I went to pick up my bag today and the teeth of the zipper still look the same however he did fix where it was separating from the bag. I asked him a simple question "What did you do to fix this?" Honestly, he starting raising his voice and advised me he didn't have to tell me how he fixed it. Probably b/c he didn't want me to know he gouged me for at most 30 mins of work. We went round and round with him keeping his voice raised and he kept going to the back of his shop leaving me there with my mouth on the floor.
I have no idea if the zipper will hold but do not plan to take the chance on my two week trip to Greece. Reason I was getting the bag fixed. I will just have to buy a new piece.
If you are one who accepts things as is then this is the place for you. If you are like me and want to question workmanship and have it done right, this is NOT your place.
Maybe the "famous" people get the best treatment but us "commoners" do not.
Bad experience.
I brought in a simple pair of Johnston & Murphy dress shoes in for a new heel. What I got back was a very uncomfortable shoe that was obviously poorly repaired and actually made far more uncomfortable. At first I thought it was simply the new heel that would take some getting use to, but soon realized that they used a nail/screw that is too long & was penetrating up into my heel. The heel itself had a space between it and the sole, which I cannot imagine is a good thing when it is raining.
Maybe they only made a mistake this time, but it was on a very simple repair and I will not return.
Shoe Repair. I was very impressived with the Cliental that had their repairs done at the golden boot. While I was in the Store the Mayor and a Senator came in at the same time and were telling me that this Guy Zam was the Greatest in the World and that all the Country Artists send their boots and shoes from other states just to get it done the right the 1st TIME.. - Very Happy.. Thanks
