People who shop Frugals don't know about Midtown. Frugals used to be about the only place I shopped for wine and liquor. But for the last two years or so, the staff has been about as helpful and friendly as your average department of motor vehicles clerk, which is to say, not at all. Honestly, several of Frugal's staff seem to have a thug attitude.

Lately I've been going to Midtown WIne on Church St. instead. Midtown's wine selection makes the selection at Frugal seem pathetic. Seriously. Midtown probably four times the selection as Frugal.

And in contrast to Frugal's staff, every person I've ever dealt with at Midtown is genuinely friendly, helpful, and eager to talk wine. I enjoy going in Midtown just to chat with the staff about wine.

Cashiers do whatever they want.. I used to spend a lot of money in this store, and probably generated them a handy amount of business bringing friends here and recommending them. However, after recent developments I have decided to never shop there again, and to discourage all my friends from shopping there as well. In December, one of McDoogal's employees stole my credit card, made copies of it, and apparently passed them out to his friends. I ended up with over $500 in identity theft losses. Then I recently went in there on a lunch break from work. I had brought a coworker with me, but because she didn't have her purse, the cashier then proceeded to REFUSE TO SELL ME LIQUOR BECAUSE THERE WAS SOMEONE STANDING NEXT TO ME WITHOUT AN ID. Seriously, folks, if i was going to buy liquor for a minor, I would have left them in the car. How stupid do they think I am!?

I got back to the office and called the manager to ask if this was their policy, and if so, it should be posted somewhere. She said it wasn't. So WHAT THE HELL? She promised to "talk to" the cashier and that's it. She didn't even offer me anything for the wasted time or the inconvenience.

So, don't bother going here if you want to be treated right. Their prices might be good, but they're not that great.

Do not trust them!. My husband and I called 3 weeks ago to reserve a keg of Bud Select for July 3rd. The manager told us to call back the week of because they get a new shipment every week. Being the paranoid person that I am, I called on Monday of that week to reserve it. The guy on the phone was extremely unprofessional but told me that he would "put my name on it." We called again on Thursday, the day we were picking it up, and the manager said he had no record of us ever calling in. He had already promised the one keg of Bud Select to someone else and there was nothing he could do for us. Then he tried to sell me other kegs and could not even give me a special rate after everything that he put us through! Needless to say, we went elsewhere last minute for a keg!!!

Almost Anything you can drink. I was very impressed with the knowledge of wine they have. I am a fan of Pinot Noirs and they did not have the particular label I was looking for, and made a few recommendations. I now have a few other options when looking for wine. Not to mention the plethora of other items, you will need that shopping cart at the door. Thanks for the help, I will be back soon.

Wow! They are SO helpful!!!. I had to find out the cost of some alcohol items in the Nashville area, and I work in Dallas (this was a work-related call). I was very upfront about what I was needing and they were aware that they would not get a sale from me, as I was just verifying local prices (someone had overcharged us on a catering request and I needed to know by how much!). They were courteous and extremely helpful. She had to get my information and call me back, which she did in a very timely manner. Great customer service!

Didn't even try to help. I recently called Frugal's looking for several items that are less common to see if they carried them, or would be able to special order them. The person that answered the phone was very rude, and did not even offer to try to find any of the items. I asked very nicely if he could look them up, and he made it very clear that he did not want to help at all. I won't be shopping here again.

Kegs and Wine. They have a good selection of beer in the bottle but not so much in kegs. Didnt have Amber Bock. Stick with the mainstream beers when it comes to kegs. The liquor side was good.

BEST STOP IN TOWN PERIOD. I work downtown but live in Antioch. I will drive to Frugals anytime I need something because they have the best selection and prices than any other place in the metro area.
