Good people of Nashville... This is not Mediterranean food worthy of an international city such as yours.
Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.
I can't even begin to describe the way the food is just not good.
The rice is sticky and flavorless. The beef shwarma was not so much shredded as it was hacked. "Exotic spices" seemed to consist of salt and pepper and a little garlic powder.
The hummus was bland, the bread was just bad.
The only GOOD thing I can say is that at least I knew the way back to my hotel when leaving.
If you ever get up to Detroit, the Mediterranean cuisine will blow your mind in comparison.…

I was in Nashville visiting from Memphis on business for Vanderbilt, when I saw this restaurant's sign above Cheeseburger Charlies and next to Starbucks, across the main North-South street that goes
by the east end of campus, where I spent all my time attending a seminar. I visited Mediterranean Cuisine throughout the 6-day seminar and was absolutely thrilled with every visit. The only time the service was slow, it was obviously because the place was jam-packed. The servers are very nice and totally genuine. They made me feel more welcome than anyone else in the whole city did the entire length of my visit. The food? WOW! Yummy!!!
These guys have it down PAT. I went back every single day to try more and more of their offerings. Awesome dishes I had: the Mixed Grill Platter - for $12.49 I got Shrimp Shish-kebab, Kafta Shish-kebab (Black Angus meat they spice up just right and grill on a skewer), Chicken Gyro (always had lamb gyro before; this was great), yellow rice, hummus, warm pita wedges and tabouli. I also tried the Mediterranean Combo, which filled me up on dolmades, hummus, tabouli, falafel, lamb gyro meat, kiffta (ground beef with herbs and spices), and chicken shawarma (chicken breast wedges marinated and cooked in sumptuous spices), all served with rice and warm pita wedges- WOW!!! I raved about this meal so much to the family that I had to order a couple to-go on my way out of town. I enjoyed their fattoush salad, their Greek Salad, their Kibbi Pie, Beef Shawarma Platter and the Daniela Platter. I tried the Sampler Platter, the Jalapeno Hummus, and on the last day, the Steak in a Pocket to take on the road with me. What a find! This place will always get my business any time I am ever in Nashville. Everyone on the staff I met was very personable and friendly, and I have not seen THAT in far too long- it's been years. I was very pleased, and I give the restaurant my highest recommendation. Way to go, guys. =D…
Best falafel in Nashville (anywhere for that matter).
My wife and I had not been here in over 2 years and I was craving their falafel. Well, my anticipation was fulfilled! Wow this place stepped up and served the tasty food fast. We also enjoyed a nice
glass of tea and split a serving of grape leaves. Awesome!
Sammy the owner came over to our table and we had a great conversation with him.
We highly recommend this restaurant as one of our favorite for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food! Easy 5 stars! We're going back soon!!!…
Some of the Best Greek and Mediterranead Cuisine in Nashville sold at very reasonable prices & served in a clean and comfortable environment. I really enjoy Mediterranean Cuisine for their high quality food and great prices. The servers are friendly and accomomdating. The hummus tastes natural and not like the peanut butter you find at fast food greek restaurants. They also cater though I haven't had the chance to try their services; I will write a review of the catering when I do.…
Gone way downhill in every way with new owners..
We knew this place to have really good greek food. I called ahead to see if they served liquor. Yes, we could bring wine or beer. My boyfriend called too, and found out the place had new owners,
and also found bad reviews online. This was 1 hr. before we were to meet. We soldiered on and decided to go anyway. WARNING: DO NOT SOLDIER ON.
We got to the restaurant, which seemed bright and sparse. I'm in the hospitality biz, so I know what this means...it means: the owners are cutting corners, losing money, going downhill. It smelled of desperation.
The waitress was friendly, but seemed inept. We figured out later that she was an interesting person but that the owner probably abused her & made her spout his weird menu policies. All she was just trying to do was have a job.
We pulled out the wine. The waitress said they had no corkscrews. Then as one of us was getting ready to head out the door to walk 5 blocks to get a corkscrew, the owner produced one. Seemed passive aggressive to us. Let the waitress get flack, then he steps in.
We ordered our meals and appetizers of hummus & dolmades. Hummus was JUST average, dolmades were OK, pita was not homemade.
Our meals came. My lamb gyro was cold, tasteless, and mushy. I complained, and the waitress said, it's our policy that we don't take it off the bill if you don't like it. (HA!!) My partner's "platter" which was supposed to have lamb & veggies served on hummus, came without the veggies. When questioned, the waitress said, "Veggies don't come with it if you order the LAMB, only with the other meat." We insisted on veggies, & she came out with a tiny dish with 2 tablespoons of sauteed onions.
It was horrible. In any other restaurant, the waitress would be a star, but her personality was shackled by a cheap owner. The food was the worst and the owner should be prepared to close his doors. A happy customer will tell 5 friends, an unhappy customer will tell 20.…
