Unorganized and Rude. Had an incredibly bad experience at this establishment on New Years Eve. We called and were told that they were no longer taking reservations, however walk ins were welcome and the wait was 30 minutes. Free valet parking was great, hostess greeted us, and we were told the wait would be 30 minutes. We seated ourselves at the nice bar in the hotel lobby had a couple of beverages and checked back in 45 minutes, "oh, sorry, it'll still be another 30 minutes by the hostess and manager. Back to the bar.. One hour later checked back in and were told it should only be another 10 minutes. After another 30 minutes went by.... Went back to hostess stand, met by the manager (Raymond), were told that they had no idea when they could seat us, and that we should have made reservations. I calmly explained that we requested a reservation, but were told that walk ins were welcome. He became very flustered, extremely rude and walked away without even an offer of an apology. After over 2 hours of waiting, we left unfed, were told by other patrons that had eaten there already, that we didn't miss anything, that the food wasn't very good. In short, they were dishonest, rude an clearly could not manage a busy evening service.…
Ok food, HORRIBLE SERVICE. I took a few of my friends here from out of town since we were staying in the Hotel Indigo. To start with, the waitress rolled her eyes when we wanted drink menus and she gave us only one for the group. When we ordered, she did not even know the drinks! She had to get a menu and look for herself. We wanted the white/shrimp sauce that most hibachi places give everyone. When I asked she brought one bowl. When another person in the group wanted some, she told them to share with me across another person! The final problem was when the cook added pineapple to the chicken after cooking it through the whole meal. This was not listed on the menu and one of my friends was allergic. The cook tried to fix it but the damage was done. When she asked the waitress to remove just the chicken from her price (she had a combination dinner) she then rolled her eyes again and acted like it was her problem. She then got the manager who agreed to take $5 off but said next time my friend should inform them of all her allergies BEFORE ordering, even if something is not listed on the menu. They then charged her 18% gratuity automatically when they did not do it for anyone else in the party!!! So even though you get horrible service, you still have to pay! The food was ok but with this service, there are several other hibachis in Nashville that I would prefer paying those prices.…
Long Wait. Unhelpful Staff..
I had a reservation for 14 people at 8:30 p.m., we weren't seated until 9:45 p.m. When we were finally seated we were shocked to discover there was only enough room for 12. When we tried to approach
the host about our problem we were informed that we couldn't possibly have made a reservation for 14 because they only accept reservations up to 12. We squeezed in with another party so that we could all fit and 10 minutes later the host returned to tell us that they couldn't seat our entire party, to which we pointed out that we had already fixed the problem.
In conclusion, the staff was very apathetic and although our food was good, we left with a VERY bad taste in our mouths.…
very trendy, strong drinks! Great sushi. our visit to Goten was a fabulous experience. it was my son's birthday and he says he wants to go there every year. we had a large group from babies to elderly and everyone left happy. i had sushi but others eating hibachi loved it.…
Super disappointed!. I LOVE Japanese steakhouses and we'd earned a night out! We'd heard so many good things about Goten and I was super excited. I left the restauraunt heartbroken. The service was good, but the food was subpar at best. The salad dressing was nowhere as good as everyone elses, The dipping sauces were not tasty in the least, the rice was bland...I'd rather go to a chinese buffet...…
