Editorial Review for Broadway Brewhouse/Mojo Grill – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Groups of friends relax on the grill's front patio or inside the brick restaurant with Cajun favorites like spicy shrimp gumbo and jerk chicken. In the rear, Broadway Brewhouse's large oak bar boasts 70 taps and 175 bottles of everything from European imports to the local Yazoo Brewery. Still, the young, primped crowd usually uses pints of Miller Lite to quench the red bean and rice fire in their mouths.

...that last review reminds me of the first time I got drunk in public too. Service at the Brew? Kills. Especially when there are a bunch of low life college kids on twofer night who expect everything without throwing a tip to the bartenders. I still get my drink in a professional and timely manner. I think the only thing that bites about the brew are the people who don't get it. Especially when they go all premature postal because they can't handle themselves in a 'real' bar. I'm sure it's all much better at Bennigan's... I have been taking drinks from Jemma and eating the screaming hot wings at the Brew for a long time. Good Food/Good People in a perfectly unassuming setting. When I read these 'amateur' review sites there's always some arrogant soul who writes scathingly about a joint that just don't deserve it. I would love to see what she would say about CBGB's in it's prime.... Get a friggin' life.
Pros: cold drinks, good service
Cons: whining customers

To be fair, I went to this bar about five times before writing this review. I understand that sometimes you're just going to have a bad experience somewhere, however this is not the case here! This bar had the worst service of anywhere I've ever been! It's a big problem when the rudest people in the bar are the managers! I finally asked for a manager the fourth time we went in there and this rude girl named Gema? came over and treated us worse than the servers and bartenders who ignore everyone except their friends. I have no idea how this place even functions, when it's obvious that it's run by a bunch of bitchy highschool kids. I work in the service industry and understand a lot that goes on in a bar environment, but this place should think about re-staffing immediately! The only good thing I can say about the place is that their food is wonderful...if you're lucky enough to get served! On the flip side of things, the reason I gave them a chance is because I'm a regular at the Brewhouse Downtown, which has great service. They recommended I try the midtown location because of atmosphere. I hated to tell them of my experience, but it's the truth!
Pros: Big beer selections...good food
Cons: everything else...especially the staff
