By Far the Best Sushi in Nashville. I'm somewhat of a sushi snob and this is so far the best sushi in Nashville that you needn't even bother trying any of the others. I've tried all of the leading contenders and haven't gone anywhere else since I discovered this hole-in-the-wall. It's not the best sushi I've ever had, having had some find sushi in San Diego, LA, SF, NY, Chicago, etc. but this establishment does it right. Highly recommended and one of the best restaurants of any genre in Nashville, although it's definitely not much to look at.
Excellent all the time. I treat myself at least once a week. I have always felt welcomed. The food is excellent, service is excellent...
TERRIBLE.. had to wait outisde for half an hour, then stood in the corner for 20 minutes though there was a table available.waitress made us order on one ticket b/c they were busy [there were 2 tables there]. I had to go ask her for drinks and we didn't get them until after appetizers. served all our sushi on one big plate [7 rolls] and just set it down and walked away. NEver checked on us. refused to split check and told us we had to pay with one credit card. We divided the bill and she said "What is this?" and stormed away, throwing our bill on the table. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.
AWESOME. Best Sushi in town. Try it for yourself. BEST IN TOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fabulous Food. I go to Vanderbilt and I eat at Samurai very often, at least every two weeks. The service has always been excellent, the food comes quickly and always tastes fresh, and all of the people are very friendly. On top of that, the sushi is the best I have had anywhere. I highly recommend Samurai!
highly not recommended. I went to Samurai this past week and I have never been so angry leaving a restaurant. It took forever just to find someone to take our order and when they did they were very inconsiderate. When the food came out it tasted premade and the rice was cold and hard. I will never go to Samurai again.
Solid. By far the best sushi in Nashville, although only average compared to some of the top sushi places in NYC, San Fran, LA, etc. I believe you go to a restaurant for the food. Who cares if its cramped or the service leaves something to be desired. If you want sushi in Nashville, this is the place.
not what i expected....
The sushi was good but there were some things missing that i expected...like somewhere to sit, a server, a teapot (everyone else had one) and SAKE? I've never heard of a sushi place without sake! THe choo choo roll was good, don't get me wrong, but i don't think i'll drive aorund the block 6 times again looking for a parking place so i can cram into a little hallway to eat. Plus it was not very clean. i would expect a higher standard of cleanliness at a sushi bar. Maybe i wouldn not have noticed all this if i had gotten some sake...
Try tanuki at hickory hollow. It's not much on decor either but it is clean and the service is excellent, there is plenty of parking and you can get seated no matter when you go. And you will never run out of sake there!
Amazing Sushi!. Samurai's sushi is by far the best I've had in Nashville. The menu offers an amazing selection with some very unique rolls. The only downside is that the restaurant is pretty small.
Best Sushi in Town. This sushi is to die for. The rolls are huge and packed with different veggies and sauces. Definitely a great value. The Crazy roll and the Fried Shrimp roll are my favorites. You will love it!
