Best Coffee Shop in Nashville, Hands Down. Why JJ's is **the best**-- - The coffee is delicious. - The ambiance is amazing- it is a great place for a good conversation and an even better place to study. Comfortable chairs, lots of tables, a few couches. Always classical music playing in the morning, and good indie-ish music in the evening. Nice art on walls.

- best muffins ever. Pumpkin skinny chip. Soooo good.

- They serve beer.

- There is a market here too- so if you don't like coffee, you can grab a soda, or a munchie. Or, of course, beer.

- Really close to Vandy's campus.

- The barista's are actually really nice.

-The owner, Sam, is really awesome. Really nice, remembers your name and order, and just an all around good guy.

- frequent buyers card- every 12th drink free. As a regular, this comes in very handy!

Better then Sbux. I recently moved to West End and have fallen truly, madly, deeply in love with JJ's. They have THEE best coffee in town, hands down... as an ex-Starbucks barista that's saying a lot. In addition to coffee, their staff is WONDERFUL... Sam & Jeff especially go out of their way to make you feel completely taken care of. They've got a great selection of magazines, beverages (imported beer, pop, etc) all kinds of little treats... imported chocolate, all natural muffins, ice cream... then there's the actual coffee house... it gives you all sorts of options. Couch, little desk, big table... whatever you're in the mood for.

If you're looking for something a little different... some amazing coffee... and a nice little place to read or get some work done... JJ's is the best I know of.

Best coffee shop in Nashville. I happened to find myself in Nashville for a long weekend visit and had spent time in several other coffee shops when a local resident (third year radiology resident at that) pointed out JJ's near Vanderbilt University as "a great coffee shop where you can also get a beer." I checked it out, and from the outside, it just looks like a convenience store, and even still resembles one when you first step inside. However, when you walk past the convenience store part of the store and behind it is a 25 by 120 ' square space with coaches, chairs, persian carpets, brick walls and a velvet curtain at the far end with nice low classical playing and free wireless internet. There are 15 tables, numerous chairs, two coaches and computers set up for the non-laptop toting to access the internet as well. They also serve lunch, salads and sandwiches, and the propietors are extremely friendly. I've spent the entire day here while my wife is at Vanderbilt and I've tried many of their drinks, including a Rogue Chocolate Stout from their freezer and two espresso creations, all equally delicious. They also sell cigars, tea, fine chocolates (european fine cacoa), and the list of beers is truly impressive as well as 4 tap beers, Yazoo featured prominently (local brewery). Just down Broadway from Vanderbilt on 21st, it is less than half a mile from the school and truly a gem, I recommend it to everyone. I couldn't think of a nicer place to spend 7 hours.

horrible. Was given incorrect change and when I brought it to their attention, I was accused of trying to cheat them. Quite an unpleasant experience. Approach the register with caution.

Hidden Gem. Outside of Vandy Law Students and the modern hippie crowd, this market goes relatively unnoticed. It shouldn't, though. Great keg prices and variety, unique sandwiches, the best magazine selection in town, and a good funky vibe make this place a steal.
