Editorial Review for Renaissance Nashville Hotel – by Gayot.com

The Scene
If you're in town for an event at the Nashville Convention Center, you can't get closer than this--the 673-room hotel is connected to the center. The atmosphere is decidedly corporate and upscale. Numerous renovations in the 1990s updated the lobby, public areas, ballroom, restaurant and guest rooms. The hotel is within walking distance of the Coliseum, Country Music Hall of Fame, Frist Center for the Visual Arts and the historical Second Avenue District.

The Details
This is one of Nashville's supreme convention facilities. A complete business center is complemented by secretarial services, large meetings rooms and well-equipped executive suites. While suits populate the landscape here, leisure is accommodated with a fitness center, indoor pool and whirlpool spa. The full-service Commerce Street Grill serves light Southern cuisine, and the Bridge Lounge sits atop the hotel, offering a fantastic view of the skyline.

My husband and I had never been to Nashville and found the Renaissance Hotel listed in a book about Nashville. We called and made a reservation to celebrate our 6th anniversary. From the Valet parking people, to the doormen, to the front desk check-in, to the housekeeping staff, to the conceirge, to the restaurant staff everyone made our stay special. We will definitely be back!

Pros: great location, friendly staff, spacious rooms

Cons: none, none, none

I won a trip to Nashville on our local Counrty Radio Station. We had never been to Nashville and was looking forward to the trip! When we arrived, the hotel stands out it is the tallest in downtown, the staff wonderful. Made us feel like we were someone special! The location is great, right around the corner from the Ryman, the Gaylord Arena, and Broadway (the local honkey tonks). WE had a wonderful time, and found none of the above mentioned problems. Even tho they don't have shuttles to/from the airport, and the OpryLand Resort the taxis are only 22.00 one way to these area attractions. The only thing I might suggest is to put families with small children on the same wing/ floor, a family with small children was across the hall and allowed them to play in the hall. We could hear them in the halls.

Pros: location, staff

Cons: NO shuttles
