DO NOT GO HERE!.
WAY OVER PRICED! Waiters definitely try to upsell you from a $39 steak to a $109 steak... in a sneaky way.
Charming place/atmosphere to be sure, but the food is just okay... not mind-blowing like we thought it was going to be and definitely not worth the over $1000 we paid for our party of 4.
Don't believe the hype. It's not worth the money.
My experience. My impression, very nice historic Nashville building, nice architecture as well on the inside. Staff was nice and waiter was polite. Not sure if it was me, but when I looked at the prices on the menu and when the waiter went over the menu items the prices where double. And the bill reflected that latter. Nice wine list though all of it was over priced. My bill was over 200 dollars and my wine came in a glass from Wal-Mart (my guess). I would have expected a Riedel wine glass at these exorbitant prices. TGI Fridays has better wine glasses than the Stockyard. I will say my New York Strip was probably the best I ever had and the dessert was delicious as well. My date got the peppered chicken and she loved it. If you have money to blow, it may be well worth it to try the Stockyard, maybe just to say you’ve been there. Expect to spend over 200 dollars for two people. Overall I’d say I am glad I ate there, once, would I go back, no. For myself I do not have the resources to spend this kind of money for dinner.
Words cannot describe how disappointing this restaurant was!. Wish I could leave negative stars! Horrible across the board! Service was shady. Steaks were probably horse meat. I ordered their KC Strip off the menu that somehow got replaced with their special bone in Strip. Even after I specifically asked if the normal "40 Day aged KC Strip" was bone in because I did not want a bone in strip. Either my server lied or was incompetent and didn't know any better. Skip the Mac and Cheese and just knaw on a piece of card board. Sent steak back after struggling with the bad steak knife to saw through the grissle filled meat. Waiter told management but all he did was walk by our table 3-4 times and never stopped by to see if there was a way to remedy the situation. I sought him out after paying $175.30 bill for two bites of what they called Certified Angus beef to share my thoughts and quickly figured out that the incompetence came from the top down. I'm in the beef industry and I would suggest to the Certified Angus people that they pull their endorsement from this restaurant. I have never sent a dish back nor have I ever taking the time to write a review but I hope this keeps others from the tremendous disappointment that I felt.
Never go there. Extremely over priced and very average food. Better steaks from Safeway. Wait staff could double as con-men. Be sure to ask the price when they try to switch you from baked potato to loaded potato - $40.00 are you kidding.
Absolutely skip it!.
This place was recommended by my realtor - this should have raised serious red flags, but thought we'd try anyways - big mistake!
I've been to the finest steak houses in the US and the Stock-Yard should not be included on any top lists. It's extremely touristy (think tour buses pulling up throughout the evening and unloading large groups of tourists from area hotels), outrageously expensive ($10 for a bland improperly cooked and seasoned side vegetable or iceberg lettuce salad with bottled dressing and croutons from a bag), and has the corniest atmosphere (southern plantation style home in a brick building). I would have preferred a warehouse feel with brown paper tablecloths to go along with the "this used to be a stockyard" story the waiter was forced to tell use about.
I want the $250 back that I paid for a meal for 2!!!! Worst dining experience in the Nashville area ever.
Pop's Bar-Be-Que- better than ever!!!!. Pop'S barbeque Pit on 28th and Clifton is now HOttter than ever! Serving a great number of your FAVORITE barbeque choices in owner, Riley Brown's signature barbeque sauce. Now open Monday-Friday 10am-til your orders stop. Delivery also available.
Excellent!!. After reading all of the negative reviews on here, I felt compelled to write a great one, as my husband and I just ate there for our anniversary this past June. The food was fantastic. Despite some patrons claiming prices were not give to them when the specials were read, we did not have this problem. We knew how much everything costed before we ordered it. My husband had the dry aged New York Strip, and it was probably the best steak I've ever tasted! Our sever was excellent as well. Very knowledgabe without being overbearing. The only drawback was the price. It was quite expensive, but for a special occasion, not out of the question. I also thought the markups on their wine list were quite high, but we opted for mixed drinks and were charged very reasonable prices. When we were done eating, they encouraged us to go upstairs and have a look at the whole facility, as it was our first time there. The property is beautiful & unique. I would highly recommend this to a couple looking for a great meal on a special occasion or a business gathering where you want to impress your clients!
Extremely small portions VERY $$$$$$$.
I sincerely cannot believe this place is still open. The prices are extremely high the portions are very small. There is absolutely no way you can get out of there under $250.00 per couple. We had one steak, one side item, one bottle of wine $55.00 dollars which cost under $12.00 in a liquor store and our tab was $243.58 before tip. The food was not very good, bland and the portions were extremely small, and not very flavorful.
I would not endorse this restaurant to anyone I liked.
Do yourself a favor and skip the Stockyard!. I should have known when we arrived early Saturday evening and found the restaurant all but empty that something was not right about this place. Even though we were one of the only tables occupied in the restaurant, it took us FOREVER to get our food. I was seriously disappointed once it arrived. The portions were larger than I expected, but who wants a large portion of bad food? The steak was very dry. Definitely not worth what they charge. WAY too overpriced. To top it all off, the bathroom was filthy! There were dead bugs on the floor!! YUK!!!
Bad Service. Our waiter, Ray was awful. He didn't tell us any of the specials or the market prices; I had to ask. Once we got our food, he didn't even come by our table to see if we needed anything. The whole time I was eating my wine and water glass was empty.
