No where near the Cumberland!. My date and I went to check out Windows on the Cumberland thinking it would actually be somewhere near the river and it turned out to be this little boxed in beer only place around the corner from third and lindsley. I would go back if the music was right but I wouldn't recommend it for atmosphere or great location.
A DISTRICT LEGEND. WINDOWS ON THE CUMBERLAND HAS WITHSTOOD MANY CHANGES IN THE DISTRICT. NOT TO MENTION BECOMING THE GRANDFATHER TO THE EVER CHANGING SISTER STORES THAT HAVE COME AND GONE THAT LEAD TO THE BAR. AT THE END OF THE WINDING PATH, THE BEAUTIFUL PANARAMIC VIEW OF THE CUMBERLAND RIVIER AND IT'S LANDMARKS (THE TITAN'S STADIUM, SHELBY ST BRIDGE, 1ST AVE) INSTANTLY PULL YOU INSIDE. THE PEOPLE YOU WILL MEET ARE AS WELCOMING AS THE WINDOWS THEMSELVES. JUST BEING NEWLY RENOVATED IS ANOTHER REASON TO SOON CHECK WINDOWS ON THE CUMBERLAND!
Grab a beer and a seat at the bar for great views and even better tunes..
In Short
There's the atmosphere of a 1930s tramp bar, with the intimacy of your own living room. Boots, the joint's owner, mans the bar and runs the soundboard. Whether you walk in to find a singer-songwriter or freeform jazz, Boots has a musical treat in store. Surprise appearances sometimes take place, as many notable bands have set up residence here. Drink options range from beer to beer (with the occasional cider or Smirnoff Ice).
May not be the hippest....
trendiest, or most "in" bar in Nashville - but it's by far the best.
Great music every night, very cool laid back atmosphere, what more could you want? Get away from the tourist traps and go here to get a taste of Nashville's true scene.
Windows Rocks with Sky Taylor. I was hanging around downtown when I heard some great music coming from a building off the river. I found it was coming from Windows on the Cumberland and the musician was Sky Taylor. I loved the atmosphere of Windows and I loved Sky Taylor. She rocked the house. Windows is a quaint little venue where you immediately feel like family.
Great Little Club Off The River. I had my first experience at Windows not too long ago. It was a blast. The music is live and it is great. Sky Taylor was playing the night I was there. She is a great entertainer. That will not be my last trip to Windows or to see Sky Taylor. Thanks to everyone at Windows for a great time!!
Folk Medicine. WOTC is a great place for a Sat. night with friends. I was there on the 27th and Folk Medicine was the opening band, and they were GREAT. The people who didn't show until the Del Giovanni Clique played missed out BIG time.
A Perfect 10. Windows is a great place to go if you like live music and a really friendly door guy. "Pops" is there every Saturday night and he makes you feel at home (especially if you're a regular-he always remember's you). Some really good bands play there like: Mink, Fluid Tuesday, and Del Giovanni Clique.
Intimate club. WOTC is the best club to go to if you want to hear great bands and meet awesome people. I go there every last Saturday of the month to hear del giovanni clique play. If you haven't heard them CHECK THEM OUT!!!!!!!!
