Stay away for your own safety!. The food was good and the employees were very professional. I was harraased for the second time by two different homeless men, two years apart. It is not safe when the dirty homeless get violent because you refuse to give them money! I ran into my vehicle and left!Melting Pot doesn't allow legal gun permit holders to carry handguns into their restaurant because they want you to get robbed when you get out! I won't go back until they change their policy!
Excellent Food and Great for Special occasions. We reserved a spot for our Anniversery, and are so very glad we did. The place is great and everyone needs to do it atleast once. Yes it can be expensive but truly worth the price for a memory you will never forget. It is romantic, Staff is helpful, Food is great and it sets the stage for a romantic evening. Thank You Melting Pot!
Wonderful Experience. We arrived at 6:30 and had drinks at the bar til our table was ready. Table was ready within 20 minutes and we were seated. The food was excellent but expensive. We enjoyed a wonderful evening with another couple. We had plenty of chat time between courses. Awesome desert. A great place for a special occasion.
Great atmosphere, $120 bill for 2 and left hungry. They've got the romantic end of it locked up. Its a beautiful room, with the tables very privately situated so as to minimize the other guests in view. Doing fondue is a neat way to make an evening special; its fun to cook at the table. That being said, after a 3 course meal and a couple of drinks, leaving the restaurant, we were both hungry already! Our bill was $120 for both of us and while we had fun with the food, the portions were like something off a kid's menu. Some in our office have mentioned doing a group at the Melting Pot, but I've had to vote no because of the value. Highway Robbery or Enron are terms that come to mind. My advice is, eat anywhere on 2nd Avenue, then go there for their desserts, which I think is only like $25 per person.
EXCELLENT. I HAVE NEVER BEEN AT A MORE AMAZING RESTURANT...IT WAS REALLY NICE. I TOOK MY HUSBAND OUT FOR HIS BIRTHDAY...HE WAS SO SURPRISED WHEN I MADE THE RESERVATION. I TOLD THEM AND I GOT A CHOICE TO GET SOMETHING SPECIAL ON THE TABLE. I PUT SOME ROSES WITH A VASE AND A CARD ON THE TABLE...IT ALSO HAD A PICTURE INCLUDED OF US AT DINNER WHICH THEY ALSO PUT IT IN A PRETTY FRAME. THE MEAL WAS DELICIOUS...HAVENT DONE ANYTHING LIKE THAT...IT TOOK ABOUT 2HOURS FOR THE DINING EXPERIENCE AND WE ENJOYED. OUR WATRIESS KATHERINE WAS GREAT....YOU WERE NOT RUSHED.....THEY HAD A WONDERFUL COBB SALAD AS WELL...MY HUSBNAD DONT EAT SALAD AND HE ATE ONE THERE....WHOO HOO I LOVED IT
It's hip to dip at this cozy fondue-lover's paradise..
In Short
Booths equipped with tabletop fondue pots are clustered together inside the intimate dining room. Start with a cheese fondue, including an assortment of breads, veggies and fruits for dipping. Entrees include lobster, center-cut filet, fish, chicken and vegetarian selections served with a variety of dipping sauces. For dessert, try the flaming turtle, a mix of chocolate and caramel flambéed tableside, served with nut-covered marshmallows, fresh fruit, pound cake, brownies and cheesecake.
Best service and food in Nashville, TN. This was the most romantic place me and my wife has ever ate. I found was very good. You are not rushed, you take your time and enjoy yourself. Service was very nice from the front door to our waiter. This is a place to go every time you need a weekend with your signifacant other. I'd give it more stars if I could.
AWFUL SERVICE.... I have been going for at least the past 10 years for special occasions; however, this past Valentine's Day was so awful I will never go back to this overpriced restaurant. Our server, David, talked down to us the entire evening and answered any questions we had in a condescending attitude. He really made our entire experience awful with his uppity tone. I have no idea why, especially in his positon as a server, he thought was better than me and my date. Furthermore, they had a high grautity added on which he absolutely did not deserve. I have called the district manager twice and have been ignored which aggravates me to the point that I will not go back and will encourage others to avoid the location. There are plenty better restaurants with respectful, nice servers. STAY AWAY!!
Expensive, but a novel idea. I went to this restaurant a couple of nights ago. I thought the food was good, but it didn't wow me at all. I thought the cheese and chocolate fondues were good and the meat was just ok. It's such a novel idea to cook your own food in this way but, honestly, I'd rather spend the money at a restaurant where the food is better. Our bill came to just under $100 (2 people). The service was excellent- the manager came over a couple of times to see how we were doing and asked if everything was ok. Our waitress was also excellent. It was a fun experience but overpriced. I'd recommend buying your own fondue set at Target and trying to replicate this experience at home.
LOOOOVE the Food, Not Always Impressed with the Service. I LOVE the food at the MP and have had many wonderful, romantic, fun meals there, however I have noticed on my last couple of visits that the service has declined and the portions seem to have gotten alot smaller, especially on the chocolate course. The thing that really gripes me though is that they do seem to have an arrogance that is really not warranted and is quite a turnoff as a customer. On one recent trip, I took my son and his girlfriend to dinner after prom and upon seating us, we were told that adults with prom students weren't allowed to order alcoholic beverages in fear that they would pass the beverages to the kids. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of! So, let me get this straight, I can walk in with the same kids when they are NOT DRESSED IN PROM CLOTHES and they will serve me a glass of wine, but because the kids are in prom clothes, they won't serve me?? SERIOUSLY?? As a parent, I appreciate the their concern, but it's MY JOB to make sure my kids aren't drinking, that is not the responsibility of the MP. I can handle that job on prom night and every other night. Furthermore, when that sort of restriction is in place, it is MP's responsibility to notify customers of such at the time they make their reservation...not as they are being seated. I know it's not the end of the world to not have a drink with dinner, but I personally considering it part of the overall experience to have a glass of wine when I am having $200+ meal. Besides, parents who would pass their kids a drink across the dinner table would be the same ones to give it to them in the car or at any time. The folks at MP are foolish to think they can make a difference in that regard. I was later told they also prohibited smokers from smoking with kids at the table (when they allowed smoking). I'm not a smoker, but PLEASE...get over yourselves!
