Editorial Review for The Melting Pot – by Cindy Locke
In Short
Booths equipped with tabletop fondue pots are clustered together inside the intimate dining room. Start with a cheese fondue, including an assortment of breads, veggies and fruits for dipping. Entrees include lobster, center-cut filet, fish, chicken and vegetarian selections served with a variety of dipping sauces. For dessert, try the flaming turtle, a mix of chocolate and caramel flambéed tableside, served with nut-covered marshmallows, fresh fruit, pound cake, brownies and cheesecake.

I have been going for at least the past 10 years for special occasions; however, this past Valentine's Day was so awful I will never go back to this overpriced restaurant. Our server, David, talked down to us the entire evening and answered any questions we had in a condescending attitude. He really made our entire experience awful with his uppity tone. I have no idea why, especially in his positon as a server, he thought was better than me and my date. Furthermore, they had a high grautity added on which he absolutely did not deserve. I have called the district manager twice and have been ignored which aggravates me to the point that I will not go back and will encourage others to avoid the location. There are plenty better restaurants with respectful, nice servers. STAY AWAY!!
Pros: Chocolate fondue
Cons: Service, cost

I went to this restaurant a couple of nights ago. I thought the food was good, but it didn't wow me at all. I thought the cheese and chocolate fondues were good and the meat was just ok. It's such a novel idea to cook your own food in this way but, honestly, I'd rather spend the money at a restaurant where the food is better. Our bill came to just under $100 (2 people). The service was excellent- the manager came over a couple of times to see how we were doing and asked if everything was ok. Our waitress was also excellent. It was a fun experience but overpriced. I'd recommend buying your own fondue set at Target and trying to replicate this experience at home.
