Old Hickory Garage: Honest, Reasonable, Dependable.
My family has done business with Jerry (and previously his father Jack) and mechanic John for years. OHG has always given good service at reasonable cost. Often, they will find a problem a dealer has missed or mis-quoted (high) and fixed all problems. I occasionally take a car to a dealer, but my default is Old Hickory Garage. They don't have a fancy waiting room or coffee, but the service, friendliness, and net cost more than makes up for it.

I wouldn't take a bicycle to them for repair!.
After my experience with these rip-off artists, I wouldn't take a bicycle there to be repaired! I was told by their head mechanic that they would fix my car's a/c for $475.00. He said with certainty that it could be fixed. I paid the money, and - not only did they keep my car for almost a week - when I got it back, the a/c is worse now than ever. It wasn't making noise before bringing it in, but now it not only has HOT air coming out, but rattles, too. I called the shop and spoke with a smart-ass who stated "you can't make chicken soup out of chicken salad" or some other stupid remark. PLEASE BEWARE, unless you just like throwing money away to thieves!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dependable.
I've taken my cars to Jerry and crew for 15 years. Import or domestic, he's usually been able to fix my problem or at least had a good reference, if not. OHG is a small garage, but they're always busy. Even so, they have been able to take my care numerous times at the drop of a hat. Jerry does a good job of explaining the repair in clear terms and I've never been unpleasantly surprised once the bill arrived. They do good work.
