If not for some cool people and the occasional decent band, this place would really stink. The Boro is one of the only venues in Murfreesboro and that is a shame...The bathrooms are about as clean as the homeless people you see in downtown Nashville. In the summer, not only is it hot as hell in there but you are out of luck if you forgot your gas mask to protect you from the clouds of smoke. Once in a blue moon they will have an excellent band and most of the time their staff is really cool. There are some ex-employees and bands that complain about bad experiences with the management/owner. As far as food goes, everything I have had there was terrible but some people rave about certain items on the menu. The beer is usually somewhat warm or at least not as cold as I like to have it. All in all it's a successful club because there is no competition in Murfreesboro and being across the street from the college helps. If you don't mind these little problems then have fun at the Boro...

Great place for live music. I have run sound at the boro several times, played there and seen lots of bands play. It is one of two places in Murfreesboro that is worth going to see live music at. The service is great, the place needs to advertise more but other than that There are no complaints from me. If you find out about a show at the boro, GO.

Second Opinion. People smoke in bars... I don't smoke and I DON'T think it is to smoky...

They DO open the garage doors... prices are cheap... food is EXCELLENT... parking can get a little crowded when popular bands are playing but on slower nights (Sun, Mon, Tues) and during the day parking is no problem. It's not cold there in the winter - its HOT... all those people made the place like a sauna...

The boro is KNOWN for it's beer selection - if you want liquor - go somewhere else...

The restrooms ARE handicap accessable - otherwise they would not be allowed to operate as a business... There is even a seperate handicap restroom so I don't know what the problem was unless that is "new" (but the boro hasn't changed in the 7 years I've been going)...

Either way - Try the hot wings on Thursday they are half price...

Dive Bar. Lots of good bands play here, but other than that, this bar is better off avoided. It's too small, and it's always Really smoky. I smoke so you know it's really smoky if a smoker thinks so. In the summer it gets really hot and even though they have garage doors, they never open them. In the winter, it's really cold. They only serve beer and wine so there's another problem. The beer selection is one of the best, but everyone's not always in the mood for beer. When a popular band is playing, there's never enough parking. They have cool lighting and sound system though, so it's not a total loss. Also the restrooms aren't wheelchair accessible so you have to go to the gas station next door if you're handicapped. If you don't mind all of the above, you can have a good time there.
