RUINED ANNIVERSARY. I wanted to do something special for our 29 wedding anniversary! I was expecting a romantic evening with great food and atmosphere. What I got was bad service & worst food. We ordered fried mushrooms. They were great. You get a plate of the biggest fried mushrooms I have ever seen, but you get very little horseradish dipping sauce. It took me about 10 min to get our waitress. I asked for more dipping sauce. I never received it. My husband's glass set empty for almost 20 minutes. The hostess finally came by and I asked her if she would get him some diet Pepsi. There was only two other tables when we got there. after we got our mushrooms 3 more tables were set. One of them got their appetizers & dinner before we got our dinner. About 10 minutes after they got their dinner my husband stopped the waitress and asked her what was taking so long? She said she would check. She brought our food out it was cold. The baked potato would not even melt the butter & was hard. The seafood was frozen not fresh. It had no flavor! You couldn't eat the grouper at all. The crab cakes were not very good. The shrimp was just ok. The fries were greasy. My steak was good. We split it and the rolls were good. We ask for more rolls with our meal but never received them. I don't mind paying higher prices for great food & service, but to pay over $56 for the meal we got here was robbery. I will never return to this restaurant again.

WORST PLACE EVER!!!. where do I start: Bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months, they smelled like very strong urine, medium steak was well-done, waitress said: "kids menu is steak, chicken or shrimp (AFTER GETTING BILL--kids steak meal was $9! without a drink), our rice was still hard and the hushpuppies were not done. We had BOGO free and our meal was $57 -- we paid and got out of there in a hurry! Yuck!

OK FOOD...HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT!. First off, let me say that I never write reviews, but I just came back from Woody's and I had to write this one. My girlfriend and I decided to go to Woody's because she paid for a Sharing Spree coupon and we were dying to get some steak. Woody's has a special on its filet mignon (2 for 1) on Wednesdays as well as a piano player all night. Sounded great! We got there around 6:45 and waited a good twenty minutes for a table. When we sat down, we perused the menu, ordered an appetizer of fried mushrooms and two filet mignon dinners that came with one side each. I had a stuffed potato and my girlfriend had asparagus. In addition, we each got a glass of wine.

The mushrooms came out in good time and, I must say, were very good. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. And, lucky for us, it was a large portion because we waited FOREVER to get the steaks. When they finally came out we were starving. The steaks were decent. The potato was overdone and a little burnt on the outside. The asparagus...well, it's pretty hard to screw up asparagus. But, let me cut to the interesting part... the bill.

As I mentioned before, we had a coupon for our meal and when the bill came out and we tried to use it, our waitress pointed out that, since we got the 2 for 1 deal, they couldn't apply it to our total. We quickly pointed out that on the coupon it clearly states in large print, "Come take advantage of our 2 for 1 Filet Mignon..." The waitress kindly said she would consult with her manager and left momentarily. When she came back, her manager was with her and, here comes the fun part, insisted that the fine print said that we couldn't use it with the 2 for 1 deal, their computer wouldn't accept the coupon with our bill and that they didn't write the whole bit about taking advantage of the deal (that was all Sharing Spree!). We kept pointing to the huge line about taking advantage of the deal, but the manager wouldn't have it. We would have to dissolve the deal and pay full price for each meal. To add insult to injury, the table behind us asked what was going on and the manager acted like we were trying to hustle them and weasel our way out of paying the full bill. My girlfriend was extremely upset and when our waitress came back to give us the amended bill she noticed that she was visibly distressed and told us to hold on. She left and when she came back she was shaking her head. She said she did everything she could do but her boss wouldn't budge. (I mean the freakin' waitress was taking our side and we still got the shaft!) We thanked her for trying and reviewed the new bill. The steak dinners we ordered were identical, yet one was more than the other. We soon learned that, even though it was not labeled accordingly on the menu, my stuffed potato cost additional money. We pretty much threw up our hands at that point, payed the bill, and headed for the door. On the way out, we thanked our waitress who apologized for her management's behavior. She was very sweet and had our back through the entire ordeal. We then left in a huff...my girlfriend was hurt and furious to say the least. We felt taken advantage of. We got there at 6:45 and left at 10! We were some of the last people there! So not only were we insulted and belittled, we wasted 3+ hours at a restaurant that, in all honesty, is mediocre at best.

Pathetic! Unprofessional! Ridiculous! This is not how you treat people. This is not how you treat customers. Instead of getting repeat business from us and telling our friends about what a pleasant evening we had, the management at this restaurant thought that making an additional $20 was worth it.

DO NOT GO TO WOODY'S!

Like My Grandmothers House. My wife and I have been in Hendersonville now for almost seven years, and just about everyday one of us was driving right by Woody's. We both love a good steakhouse, but never stopped in. Well my P.I. of a wife started looking into the place, it had good re views aznd thoughts wrote about across the web. But then Ally ran across some people writing about how Woody's is haunted. And the spector is called George, well the next weekend we were going. It was 05/07/11 we pulled into the parking lot and it was pretty full. We do love the pravate fenced lot that you dont have to pay to park. We made our way to the front and when walked in we were meet with a smell that was like walking into my grandma's house after she had been cooking all day. It was amazing, then nicest young lady greeted us and took us to our table. On the way to be sat we happened by a baby grand piano being played, and I love piano bars. Our server started out with asking us if we had ever ate with them before and when we told her no she fired back with welcome to the family, thats cool. We ordered a bottle of pinot nior, Mark West. We are suckers for crab cakes so we tried em, they were good. House salads were good, Ally had the Sherry beef pasta and for me was the cowboy ribeye. That ribeye was great and it filled me up. The waitress asked if we wanted dessert, we declined and she told us all about contest they win with their different cheesecakes. We declined again, she bought us a piece of mudslide cheesecake to go. The next night we split it. Holy cow amazing. We do like Woody's and it is Hendersonville's anchor.

Will be back next week.. Me and my boyfriend went to Woody's tonight for our 1 yr anniversary. The piano lounge was very romantic and the waitress was very friendly. We started off with the crab cake appetizer. They we so delicious with their remualde sauce. For the entree we had the the steak for two dinner. Our steaks were cooked medium rare n were perfect!! I've had Woody's steak about a year ago, and I've yet found a better steak around. Also make sure you bring cash, because they dont except credit cards... but the excellent food makes up for this slight inconvience. We will be back next Thursday most definatly.
