Supermarket chain offers patrons well-stocked shelves of groceries and household products.. The Kroger Co. was founded in 1883 Ohio, by Bernard Henry Kroger. Since then the chain has expanded throughout much of the Southeast, acquiring several other grocery brands. Today, Kroger stores offer a wide variety of items, ranging from fruits, vegetables and meats to dairy, fresh-baked goods, housewares, beer and wine, books, magazines and flowers. Most locations also have a pharmacy and photo lab.

Poor bagging service.. I used to shop at the Madison Kroger store regularly. But now that I know that they are disrespectful to disabled workers, I will never go it the store again. They do not have enough baggers. One of the best baggers they had, had a medical problem. As soon as he left for medical reasons, he was not hired back strictly because of his disabilites. The hiring person in the upstairs office does a very poor job at hiring. The current baggers are very slow, if you can find one.

Poor customer service.. Normally, I am not a complainer, but I just saw something at the Madison TN Kroger that made me furious. At 6:20 pm on March 1, my wife and I were standing in a long line waiting to be checked out. It was very slow and when we got closer we could see why. The cashier had no one helping her bag the groceries. A floor supervisor walked by and she asked for help. He stopped for a second and then went off to find the bagger. Ten minutes later, he comes back in the store...with no bagger. He stops to help her as there are ten carts in line. He puts two items into a bag and then says that he is going upstairs. Meanwhile there are extra people walking around, sweeping the rug, etc. and no one is helping her. I ask her if he is coming back, and she says she hopes so because her break is now overdue by an hour. But he does not come back, so my wife and I start bagging. Right before we finish, the lady sweeping the rug comes and helps with the last few bags. I ask for the manager and am told that he is "upstairs". I left feeling disgusted with everyone, except our poor cashier, who kept apologizing. As of ten days later, I have received notice from the corporate office that my message got to the manager...but so far...no response. No surprize.
