In Short – One of the country's most successful steakhouse empires attracts a casual crowd with huge, reasonably priced steak dinners and a tempered Texan milieu (country music and imposing cattle busts). Wise diners turn off their internal calorie counters, as many menu items arrive fried, covered in cheese, or both. A typically rich meal starts with cheese fries, followed by a blue cheese-crusted fillet. Fried cheesecake ends the night on a note of Texas-sized decadence.
Editor's Tips
- The Extras:
- Longhorn is notably kid-friendly--after being given crayons and coloring sheets, youngsters can order off an exceptionally affordable kids' menu.

Longhorn is one of the better steak chains. It is the only one in the Mt. Juliet area (an Outback is another 10-15 mins away) and does a brisk business. You can usually count on a 10 minute wait most nights. Parking is just right out front and plentiful.
- Pros: consistent
- Cons: crowded
