Wow. I know every girl at the goose and not one of them would every say that about the owner. I think it funny how people loose their jobs because they are lazy and then try to blame it on the boss. The truth is if it wasnt for the owner the goose would have been gone along time ago and as for his girlfreind have you seen here lord who would ever need to sleep with one of the waitress good lord she is beautiful. Maybe keep to whats important the food and atmosphere is GREATTTTT and i have never been in the Goose when it wasn't packed.....
o.k.. Went for breakfast. The food was o.k. but the menu didn't have that big of a selection. The place is really small. Very casual. The staff was friendly and the environment was warm and welcoming. They don't take credit cards.
Awesome, old-timey meat-n-three. While visiting Hendersonville, I asked a friend if he could recommend a nice little restaurant for lunch. He recommended the Blue Goose, saying it was the best restaurant in Hendersonville. He was right. It's a quaint (read, "old") little place that has been converted into this a little restaurant. The servers are friendly - and pretty! - and the food was GREAT! I had roast beef that was fantastic! It was smothered in brown gravy and was lean and tender. The side dishes were also great and the homemade pecan pie reminded me of my mother's. In fact, everything is homemade. My mouth is still watering! My friend tells me they have a marvelous hamburger that he calls a hubcap because it is so big and "to die for." This was my first visit there and definitely will NOT be my last.
Cafe for Breakfast & Lunch.
Blue Goose Cafe serves Breakfast & Lunch. Warm & Friendly atmosphere from the staff & customers.
The staff has bascially been the same for the last couple of years. The food is good. Blue Goose is a favorite for breakfast including the basics, & a couple of specialties such as the Goosenest Omlet. Clubs are great for lunch. Reasonable prices. Seats are generally available right away. Sometimes you may have to wait.
Going down hill fast. While the original owner started a restaurant that gave you the best of the best in food quality it has changed for the worse. While the burgers are still good the Hired help at this restraunt cares less and less about there customers only how they can cut there work. The last trip in has become my last. I am tired of the help making up there owne rules as to how and when they want to serve some one. To bad this could have been the best of the best in Hendersonville. Try town and Country they still care.
New owner and he is a Gunslinger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. There is a new Gun in town and he is definately on top of the complaints. The past owner has been run out of town.and this guy walks around with the confidence of Billy the KId and the stare of Jessie James. He is pure buisness and his buisness comes first. New Floor, New Roof, Clean tables, clean everything, great looking and freindly waitress with service in minutes and what a cheeseburger. There is no doubt this is not the restaurant described in previous reveiws. If you dont take the time to check out the New Goose you have just plain missed out.
Down-home cooking--and unbeatable burgers--in the heart of Hendersonville..
In Short
Walking into this old-fashioned diner with more than four in a party is chancy during its busy lunch hour. The small space fills up quickly. Hungry customers are blue-collar workers, longtime patrons and locals who know the owners and waitstaff by name. This meat-and-three restaurant caters to those looking for true down-home cooking. The Blue Goose breakfast special includes country ham, three eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy or toast and grits.
not what you expect. I expected a country type setting which it is not. The tables are dirty, doesn'y look like they ever wash off the salt & pepper, ketchup bottles off. The waitress that I had was maybe 12 years old and took forever to get my food out then I had to have another waitress get me a refill. They apparently can't keep employees to have to have kids run the business. Parking is horrible there is no parking!!!! You are knocked down with cigarette smoke when you walk into the restaurant. The Blue Goose is not what it is talked up to be. Then you have the owner in this place of business with a attitude along with her male cook that doesn't know what order goes to what. My order was wrong once it was brought out. I will never be back!
NOT SATISFIED.. FIRST OF ALL, THE RESTAURANT WAS UNDERSTAFFED. I HAD TO WAIT FOR MY FOOD DURING MY LUNCH HOUR. I WAS RUSHED TO EAT SO THAT THEY COULD SEAT OTHERS. SOME OF THE WAITERS APPEARED UNDER AGE AND DID NOT CHECK BACK ON MY TABLE TO SEE IF WE WERE SATISFIED WITH OUR FOOD OR NEEDED ANYTHING ELSE. THE FOOD, ONCE RECEIVED WAS SATISFACTORY, NOT NECESSARILY GOOD. I PERSONALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT.
Felt Right At Home..... Being a transport from New Jersey (the capital of diners), I was missing the feeling of a diner atmosphere. With the short order cook right in front of you, I felt right at home. I have been there a few times, the breakfasts have been great - the eggs cooked exactly the way you ask and the country ham (which is something new to me) is delicious. I've had a BLT with excellent onion rings and I was sooooo happy to hear that they make a brown gravy... gotta have brown gravy on your fries. Can't wait to try the burgers. PS... The staff rocks..
