This Franklin favorite serves up mediocre Chinese fare.. The Scene Peking Palace certainly takes advantage of its Franklin location. Situated in a strip center next to Target and close to the Galleria shopping district, this restaurant draws a mixed crowd of area office workers and stay-at-home moms. Hungry shoppers also stop in for a bite. You'll be seated quickly enough, but brusque service brooks no complaints.
The Food The menu offers a nice variety of Chinese standards and 16 house specialties. Egg rolls, which can often be greasy, are excellent here. The beef with green peppers is over-sauced and a bit salty, but the veggies are crisp and the meat is abundant. On the other hand, the shrimp with broccoli offers too few shrimp. Labeled a "hot" dish on the menu, the five-flavored chicken is cloyingly sweet, offering only a hint of spice. But the sauteed slices of tender chicken and crunchy vegetables are worth that small disappointment.
good times here.
