Great quilt store. I am confused by some of the reviews. We went to the store today and it was great. Sooooo many great fabrics. It is paradise for a Quilter. Sure, there are so many bolts, it is jammed, but I would rather have that than not enough to choose from. The staff was really sweet. It was a surprise after reading some of the other reviews, so I'm really glad we went anyway.
The only good thing I can say about the store is there is a HUGE selection of fabrics.
Now the bad thing about it is you have to sort through too much to find anything. Also there is a "no refund" policy
that you find out about after paying for your merchandise.
I purchased a bundle of fabric that I thought was fat quarters, get home and find that it was strips of fabric.
After locating my receipt found that there was "no refunds". I went back to the store and explained that I
thought the the bundle was fat quarters and the sales lady thought the same. She had to get the owner to
see what she wanted to do. After she spoke with the owner the states "Its wrote on there". The clerk and
myself stated "Its very small". The writing was so small no one would have know it was there.
At this time the owner comes and gets on the phone instead of helping me so I had to wait til she was through.
When completing her phone call she tells me "well I can't give you your money back, you want to get something else."
I told her that was a problem because she should have a sign up stating "no refunds" to give people a chose
of weather to spend their money. She told me "You don't tell me what to do".
At this point I was through, it seems as if she needed the $42 more than I did. I picked out some
fat quarters to equal what I spent.
I WILL NEVER SHOP THEIR AGAIN AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO VISIT THIS STORE.
VERY RUDE OWNER!!!!!!
Quilters Fun Adventure. I was originally overwhelmed with this unbelievable selection of fabrics, but have realized that I am in a garden all right, perhaps even the Garden of Eden for quilters. I had a pattern and specific material which I took in, and they had 2 people searching for me. I was VERY pleased with the service, and they found all 8 different fabrics. They give helpful hints as well and never push me to buy something. I just wish I had more time to spend. I agree there is more fabric than space, but all of us creative artists have more around us than we need. All of us can be a bit quirky at times also!
Stitcher's garden. I love every opportunity to visit Stitcher's Garden. I find all the fabrics to be wonderful, and the shop looks like a garden with vivid colors everywhere. I have never had bad service in there. In fact, she stayed open late to allow me to find what I wanted. For those of you who have found them rude, I can't help but wonder how you approached her. Could she be responding to your wording? We can all be perceived as rude at times if we are upset about something else, or if someone approaches us in a way we consider rude.
Stitcher's Garden. I want to say first, I wish people were a little nicer when they review. I've found my experiences at Stitcher's Garden, both locations, to be amazing! go for the fabrics, that's what they've got. I've always gotten advice from whatever staff was there, or the owner, who I found to be very polite and extremely knowledgeable. There is a lot of fabric- be prepared to look, look, look!! Nowhere i've been has this much. and organization is in the eye of the organizer.
Certainly a Garden of Fabrics.
I was greatly surprised by the amount of fabrics to choose from. This place is certainly a garden of fabrics. Every color and pattern that the quilter would want.
Yes, it is a bit overwhelming, but if you look at your own stash, is it that organized?
I found the cutting area and lack of staff to cut, a bit perplexing, but when you have just what you need on the bolts, waiting is not a real issue.
The store could use a bit of organization and modernization, but yet, so could my sewing room.
I found just what I needed for my quilt group's challenge. It was purple and lime green and I had several choices to choose from. They asked me to bring back the finished project and I was happy to do so.
Don't discount this place. Have patience and you will be sure to find what you need or are looking for and then some. I also was pleased with the prices. They don't remark up but mark and keep it there. As new fabrics come in, it is marked per today's market.
Great ladies that just need a bit of updating!
Candyland for Quilters.
For me this place is heaven. There are so many fabrics, threads and books I find my self wanting to go just to dream up new projects, or simply drool over the amazing array of beautiful colors and patterns. The staff is always friendly and more than willing to help plan a new project or give advice to us newbie quilters.
I know other reviewers have given this shop a much lower rating because of the lack of organization and the lay out of the shop and forthe most part what they have said is true. The fabrics are loosely organized by color in one section, by style in another, and separate sections for the civil war era prints and 1930's prints. Now the fat quarters are EVERYWHERE. You will find them stuffed in random places all through out but the largest grouping is right in the middle and it is more like cacophony of color than anything.
So if you are looking for a shop where you can go when you know exactly what you want and can get in and out in under 5 mins, this shop is not for you. BUT if you are like me and you enjoy the process of designing your quilt and selecting your fabrics as much as you do actually putting it together then Stitcher's Garden would suit you fine. It is like going on a treasure hunt every time I go in. Again not everyone would think that is a positive but I sure as heck do!
HAVE YOU SEEN THE SHOW HORDERS!.
I was so unhappy with my experience with this abominable place. This business has serious problems!! 1) I came into this store looking for a particular fabric- YOU CANNOT FIND ANYTHING HERE BECAUSE OF THE HORRID MESS OF BOLTS ALL OVER THE FLOOR! They have bolt holders but they are blocked by piles among piles of bolts laying on top of each other! 2) They know it too! I asked someone who worked there to help me find a fabric with a general color scheme & she sighed & ran her fingers through her hair before generally pointing me to an area (of MORE PILED BOLTS!!!) 3) I asked they lady at the register if she ever ran "sales" (thinking it would only be worth it to "rummage" through these things if they were lesser prices. She seemed to be the store owner because she said "I DONT DO SALES! I CANT GIVE IT AWAY YOU KNOW" she seems to think she prices everything fairly but I beg to differ. EVERYTHING is 8.95- 9.95/ yard- even your low-end fabrics--- or the fabric she's forgotten she's has from 1980 (under the piles). It seems like a good deal if you are looking for something---- but then again GOOD LUCK FINDING IT! boo- boo on the way this business is run! Big ole thumbs down.
- Oh the address is incorrect on this listing it is next to 209 South Royal Oaks Blvd, Franklin TN 37064
Great place. I had a great time at the Stitcher's Garden yesterday. I went with a friend and we found everything we needed and we had a very varied list. The owner and the clerks were very helpful and we had a great time and laughed and left there feeling like we had friends at The Stitchers Garden. Yes, there is a lot of fabric stacked rather willy-nilly in some places, but the owner knows where to look for anything you might need.
What funny reviews. Reading these reviews made me laugh. I have made two or three visits to this shop. One since they moved. The shop makes me nervous to say the least. There is way too much stuff - it is not organized or displayed attractively and no one even offers to help you. I have visited several much smaller shops that are just delightful. I don't plan to spend any money at this one.
