Nice setting, Sushi at a decent price. I never bother to review restaurants I don't like. So when I write a review, it must be very special... and it's usually about the new gems - the smaller places that don't get much attention, but are so good they move me to write. Sakura is one of those places.

The owner and sushi chef creates little works of art out of the freshest seafood available in landlocked Franklin. Everything is top quality ingredients, and you don't realize what a difference that makes until you experience it. The servers treat customers like royalty and take care of you during your entire stay.

The dining room is intimate, warm and inviting - the kind of place that is both casual and still nice enough to bring an important business associate or a romantic date. If you don't feel like dining in, they have filled carry-out orders for me in as little as 15 minutes!

Sakura is wonderful.

Good food, new good management!. Sakura has new managment now! The old owners were younger guys, so they weren't as experienced with business, and their waitresses were their girlfriends. The new people seem to be more experienced, and I had a really good conversation with them today when I came with a few friends for lunch. The new owners are really worried that people won't want to come back because of these other not-so-good reviews, but the new people are totally different. They seem a lot more professional than the previous owners! Their food is excellent, and they seem like really nice people who want to make sure their customers are satisfied and have a good experience. They spent a little time chatting with us and did all they could to make us feel welcome during out visit. It had been a long time since I went with the old owners, so I can't remember the old menu very well, but the new menu is good! We all really liked what we ordered a lot! It's not fair when people get hurt because of someone else's problems, so I felt like I needed to say something. Don't let the other reviews turn you off. Give them a shot, and I'm sure you'll like it.

good food bad staff. i really love the food here but every time i go in there the service is kind of weird. the waitresses are all sitting around in the empty booths and they yell in japanese back and forth from opposite sides of the room. many of them don't seem to speak or understand english very well. like i said the food is good and they get it to you pretty fast but i don't like going in there because of the staff.

food ok, not management. We haven't eaten there in months. My husband, our 24 year daughter and myself ate there regularly before the new owner, and several times after it changed hands. The decor improved and the sushi (rolls) was still very good, but the teriyaki and the customer service was poor. The manager who greeted us by name, was very chatty, which we realized later was just to cover up the poor service. His excuses ranged from the cook is having a bad night to the server(co-owner) didn't understand much English. He never offered to right the wrongs , only made excuses....... well, we haven't been there in months and will only return when it either changes hands again or is under new management. It's a shame, because it was so convenient and good before.

Great Sushi. Great management.. Came to Nashville area from Orlando. Sakura had an awesome manager who gave us personal attention and made sure our meal was excellent...which it was. The sushi was excellent here! Will be back in a few weeks for more!

Change in ownership. The ownership of this well-known sushi restuarant (at least to those in Franklin) has recently changed. The food is still great, but the service is lacking a bit. Also, they still don't have their license to sell wine. However, if you like good sushi, this is a must!

Hot waitresses. Hot waitresses make the food here even better than it already is. Even the owner is hot. HOTHOTHOT. If you don't know this place, find it. It's number one in my book, and with all of my friends!!

Where everyone knows your name. My favorite sushi bar in Nashville. Staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home, and sushi is always fresh and good. Try the Charashi! This place is a well kept secret.

SupaDupa Sushi!. this is an excellent establishment, in the heart of the independence shopping center, a stones throw away from historical franklin. ask any franklin-ite, including atendees of the local high school, (about a half a mile away) this is the best sushi in town, and cost effective.

p.s. the service is outstanding.

The Sushi is always fresh at Sakura!. This is the best sushi I've had in Nashville, ever. The staff is unique as the quirky decor. However small, it is a virtual "Cheers", with an obvious steady "regular" cliental. I've never been in there one time without observing the staff either knowing atleast half of the customers names or what they eat. Very refreshing. Be ready for a real treat!
