Racism in Franklin

I hear how awesome the food in this place is!
But my sweet hubby, who is Hispanic/Austrian and often mistaken for Middle Eastern, popped in this little cafe for a bite at lunch today...he was met with lots of stares from the all white staff and guest. He ordered food and was ask "this WILL be to go?" He said to her "it doesnt look like I have a choice"...she took his money and didn't say a word!!!!
I can't believe a cafe with these "feelings" is still serving folks!
Racism...alive and well in Franklin TN!!!
No matter how good the food is...take a stand DON'T GO!!!

I remember going to this cafe with my Grandparents when I was at BGA in Franklin. I got to visit One Stop the other day with my Grandmother and though the appearance of the restaurant itself has changed the BBQ and Cornlight Bread was better then ever. My Grandmother said the food was terrific, she had greens, mashed potatoes and meatloaf, she loved it all. There is no better sweet tea then this place and the owner is probably one of the nicest people I have met. All I had was a credit card and though her restaurant does not take them she gave me her business card and told me to mail her the money. My Grandmother said thats how they use to do it her day. Thank you One Stop for bringing back great memories I had with my grandparents and thanks for keeping it the way old franklin used to be. I plan on making more trips in the future to this great friendly spot.
Sincerely
Mark Durham
