Tips for True's Barbecue

Family Favorite. Every time we have family in from out of town a request is made for BBQ from True's. I can provide food for 20 people for under a $100. We use them for weddings as well. The food is just good. It isn't greasy like some BBQ and you get that vinigar based sause you can only get in the south. The leftovers are frozen and taken back to Florida by my brother. True's has become a family tradition.

Hair in Food, Too many in kitchen that don't belong, etc.. I've eaten here several times. Next to last time had some hard dried pieces of bbq in sandwich and last time practically everybody that was in dining room went into the kitchen, I think they fixed their own plates, must have been friends or something. Had a hair in my beans with the 2nd bite, didn't even try the sandwich that time. I won't eat there again. They don't even have antibacterial soap in the bathroom. Also kids in the kitchen wrapping the plastic utensils, one seemed sick, wiping his face, etc. gross. I've never wrote a bad review but the health dept. needs to go there. My boyfriend kept pulling bone pieces out of his mouth from his sandwich. The option for pulled bbq is not even available. I would not suggest this place.

Best Authentic Regional BBQ in Middle Tennessee!. As a BBQ snob that has traveled all over the south and midwest, True's is my favorite. For those that don't like vinegar based sauce- it's a regional thing, you wouldn't understand. If I was in the Carolina's I'd expect mustard in my BBQ sauce- here, it's hot pepper and vinegar. The BBQ is sweet, well cooked, not overly smoky, shredded finely, not greasy. The chess pie is the best, and the service and price can't be beat.

Great Food!!. I don't understand how you can be disappointed with cheap prices. Anyway, I've had bbq sandwiches here and I think they are good. Pizza is also great (Hunt Brothers Pizza) specially whe you can have all toppings at no extra charge. People are friendly and service is fast..!!

Disappointing.... I was disappointed in my dining experience here. It is very quaint, the menu is only one page, and the prices are very very inexpensive (for a BBQ dinner with one side is about $4). However, it was still disappointing. You are served on paper plates with plastic utensils and styrafoam cups and ONE napkin. The BBQ sauce is made with a vinegar base but sadly that's all you taste is vinegar. The positive side of the dining experience is the lady who served us was very nice.
