Down home cooking....
As with any buffet, there are good items and not-so-good items, but there is also a lot of great food here! Best bet is to call in advance for the day's menu because it changes daily.
Catfish is cooked just right, and they use fillets without bones. Ham, meatloaf, and fried chicken are worthwhile. Salad bar is standard fare. But there are plenty of Southern veggies -- turnip greens, white and baked beans, corn, etc... Cornbread and hush puppies are tasty and fresh.
Desserts are wonderful -- peach cobbler, banana pudding, and chess pie, to name a few, but I wouldn't eat the bread pudding again... The sweet tea is smooth and plentiful -- my glass never gets below 1/4 full before getting a refill.
Service is fast and friendly -- I've been there 4 times recently and never had an issue.
don't waste your money. They advertise a catfish buffet and a seafood buffet on Fri & Sat nights, the seafood being much more costly, Had to beg someone to take our order(they were not busy), ordered seafood buffet, never got 3 of the items that I paid for with my purchase of the buffett, what was there was ruined by burnt grease. Never offered refills on drinks, when checking out, after waiting 12 minutes for someone to come to the register, I advised cashier about our experience, she could have cared less. Don't waste your money!!!!!! By the way, we got there at 7:00pm, they don't close until 9:00 pm, guess they didn't expect to be busy that night. Centerville offers much better choices, and they actually appreciate your business!
