Not so great Anniversary Dinner.. We dined at this restaurant a few years ago and the grouper was absolutely delicious. Today, not so good. I asked the waiter to find out if it was frozen, because that's how it tasted, even though the menu said "fresh". It was frozen. The baked potato was warm, not hot, I had the green peas as a side dish and i'm sorry to say they were the best things I ate all evening. The brownie tasted almost as good as the last one my daughter made, very dry.

My daughter had spaghetti parmesan, She had to pour the water off the plate. I didn't want to ask if this was frozen too but that's how it appeared. My wife had the pulled pork barbecue sandwich. She was happy with her selection. I mentioned all the problems to the waiter but they fell on deaf ears. I don't mind dropping $100 on a decent dinner but I could have done better than this at a local supermarket for $20. My last visit to this establishment.

The best for any kind of food you want. They have great sandwiches, salads, apps, etc. Monday nights you can even get a cheeseburger and fries for $5

GoodFood, TERRIBLE SERVICE!. Maybe Sportsman's should train some of their kitchen staff how to manage and serve. The food tasted great, but the waitress was rude. I was shocked by comments made by both her and her supervisor! There is enough GREAT food in Cool Springs with Great Service, so I plan to never go back to this restuarant again. Perhaps there is a reason there were only 3 other tables of patrons in the restuarant??

Definite lodge feeling...wonderful food...great service.. What more could one want in a night out than fabulous food, attentive service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere? This restaurant has it all. When you go, ask for Dena--though I'm sure all of their staff is wonderful. Dena made our evening out a really great experience. She was engaging and knew the menu well. The food--wow!--we had fried pickles, the bbq platter, and the filet kabobs (medium rare for me--mmmm!). Even the beer was very good--and the prices were exceptional for the amount of food we received. It is modeled after the old national park hunting lodges and two of the antler chandelers in the main dining area are from the 1800s. Very cool. Next time you're in Cool Springs, try the Sportsman's Grill and Lodge...you won't be disappointed.

Here's what we found on our most recent visit: the prices have become astronomical! The food was not nearly as good, and the wait staff was harried and had a hard time getting to our table to get drink orders and simple meals out in a timely manner. I realize that they were busy, but we asked to sit in the bar area so we could watch the news. We were seated in the main dining hall with had limited views of only sporting events. We couldn't even see the one tv that was showing the news. Not the best experience. The ambiance is still the same, charming, warm place where one might like to take a date or a group of sports fans to enjoy the game. But there are not many people these days who can afford $9 hamburgers and $30 steaks--salads cost extra. Perhaps a simple tweaking of the menu is in order. It's a good place to eat but you better have more that a C note in your pocket if you want to eat and drink there. We ordered water, hubs had the Ruben, and I had the appetiser fries. It was over $30 and we didn't get to watch the screen we had requested. Probably won't go back for a while. I hope they straighten things out soon. I love the fireplaces and decor. Might just sit at the bar to have a beer and catch some highlights...but even that will run ya over $10 w/ no food. Oh, well...

You have to try the pan-fried grouper, or the fried catfish.. Both are incredible. And, try the cheese fries topped with chilli. Service is usually good, wine selection not so much - go for the beer.

Where catfish and cornbread compete with burgers and fries.. In Short
This Brentwood pub has the market cornered on Northwoods lodge-style atmosphere. Walking in, you feel like you just came from a hunting trip, thanks to stuffed game and dark wood paneling. Cozy atmosphere aside, the bar has won fans with its solid catfish-and-burger menu, friendly bartenders and a healthy selection of beers. On a given night, you'll need to push your way to the bar through college kids, expat Brits and local tunesmiths.

BEST FILET MIGNON I HAVE EVER HAD. WENT IN APRIL 2006, HAD THE BEST FILET MIGNON EVER. BAKED POTATO AND SALAD WAS FINE. FRIED CHEESE AND NACHO APPETIZERS WERE GREAT. WE HAD A LARGE PARTY AND EVERYONE SEEMED VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR MEAL.

GERMAN BEER IN THE FROSTED FISH BOWL MUGS WAS NICE, ALTHOUGH I WISH THEY HAD ALL THE GERMAN BEERS LIKE THE ORIGINAL GERST HOUSE IN NASHVILLE. THEY SEEMINGLY HAVE GOOD HAPPY HOUR PRICES.

SERVICE IN THE BAR & DINING TABLES WAS EXCELLENT EVEN THOUGH WE HAD A LARGE DEMDANDING PARTY.

Good food. I went to eat at the Sportsman's Grille and Lodge before my prom. There were eight of us. We were promptly seated and our food was quickly served. The food was extremely delectable. I had the Texas Tips which is the tip of filet. The steak was magnifiscent it was the best steak I've ever had. It was cooked well done, but still very juicy and tasty. The bread and the baked potato were both very good. The salad only had 2 tomato's and a lot of lettuce, that I could have done without, other than that it was great. The service, although could have been a little better.

Best bar in town. I go here quite often and they have the best food and in a great atmosphere. It is just like a real lodge in yellowstone or Canada. They also have the best beer selection and bar of any restaurants in the area maybe even nashville. But it is still a great place for kids to.
