HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE from the owners of this store!!! This is the WORST buying experience I have ever had. I wish that I had read the reviews of this store before I bought furniture from them. I wanted a particular brand of patio chairs, and this was the only store in the area that carried the brand. Being new to the area, I called first to get directions. One of the two owners answered, and she was rude on the phone. I should have listened to my intuition and not driven over. But, I made the mistake of going to the store and ordering 2 patio chairs. I was told that they would be available in 6 to 8 weeks. I called after 7 weeks and was told that the material was on backorder. I asked why they didn’t tell me that the material was on backorder earlier so that I could have selected a different fabric, and the owner gruffly said “it’s common for custom furniture to take longer than expected”. Then, the owner said that she originally told me the chairs would take up to 10 weeks to arrive - which was not at all a truthful statement. My “friend with a truck” was not going to be able to pick the chairs up for me since they were going to arrive weeks later than promised, so I had to ask the owners to deliver them to me. There is a $50 delivery charge, and they would only deliver them if I sent a check to them prior to the delivery. They would not accept my credit card because they said “I changed my mind once about delivery already” - not taking into account that the lateness of the chairs arrival impacted my ability to get them myself. I told the owners of my dissatisfaction with their “customer service”, and they said that 99% of their customers loved them, and that I was the one being difficult…INCREDIBLE! If I had it all to do over again, I would never step foot into this store.
I just had the worst experience in a retail store where people spend their DISCRETIONARY income in my entire life. I am somewhat comforted by the reviews below knowing that I am not the only one who has had poor service directly from the owner. I have never dealt with someone in a poorer mood and as incredulous as he was when I asked if the now outdated Christmas trees and ornaments would be marked down any further. He says to me "Absolutely not! That price is a good deal!" I suppose 50% off of anything is a good deal but with an attitude like that my future business apparently is not. He struck me as another stereotypical Brentwoodian, air of entitlement because of the zip code and insulted by an inquiry of further markdown. In this economy, every dollar to your bottom line matters. Allison Y., the reviewer below who states we should be ashamed of ourselves for our opinion, has it all wrong. Maybe they had a decent experience spending THOUSANDS of dollars on patio furniture but I did not get the benefit from the owner. If you are smart you won't let your shadow cross the threshold of their door because from where I stood he doesn't appreciate anyone's business and probably laughs at those who spend a fortune after they leave. Just a reminder, the CUSTOMER is always right!
Customer service is non-existent. Owner (white-haired man) is hostile to the point of abusiveness when approached with a customer service issue. I finally pushed the $15@ broken Christmas ornaments, which had been improperly packaged when purchased, toward him and told him to keep them because they were of no use to me. No refund, no apology, no exchange. I worked in retail management for many years and never once had such a poor encounter. He's a sorry excuse for a local merchant.
Terrible customer service! The owner has a bad temper and was extremely rude to me. Christmas lights for my tree did not work when delivered. When I contacted the business the owner immediately got defensive and raised his voice. If you expect nice, respectable service - GO ELSEWHERE!
Easy to work with; Love my furniture!
My husband & I just completed a new outdoor room & bought the furniture for it at Inside-Out. Looked on the Internet & at other stores in Nashville & Inside-Out was the only place that had different stuff from everyone else. They were helpful & patient-even though it took me 4 trips to decide! IDK why their others reviews are bad. We love our furniture.
Always had a good experience at Inside Out. The furniture my wife & I got there is both comfortable and has lasted a long time.
Bought my patio set from here 3 or 4 years ago and have been nothing but pleased. I went to Citysearch to check their store hours, & was astonished to see the reviews. Inside-Out has been exceptionally great to work with every time I've been to their store. They've been right about everything they've told me & I will continue to buy from them. You people should be ashamed!
I had just moved here from California, and my movers lost/damaged some of my outdoor furniture. Attempting to replace the broken furniture, I found that this store is the only one that carried my brand of patio furniture. Despite the nasty reviews on here, I gave them a shot and was pleasantly surprised. A salesperson, even though I had not purchased my furniture from her store, helped me match what I had, and even called the manufacturer to see if they had any more of my discontinued fabric. They were a great help even though I wasn't their customer, but I will be next time!
As far as the other reviews on here, I don't understand. I found Inside-Out to be refreshing after all the other places I tried to find wicker furniture. They had more different choices than I'd seen anywhere else and the prices were comparable to other places I'd been. They were extremely helpful to me and they had answers to all my questions. I will definitely buy here again.
