I will just add my experience to the others who say do not patron this business! My sister gave me a Groupon for Christmas. I attempted to make an appt at least 10 times. I tried online and also called multiple times. When I got ahold of someone, they always told me they were completely booked. Recently, a girl told me they were completely booked, but to call back as it got closer to the expiration date and they would work me in. I called this past week (since my Groupon expires Aug. 7). That girl told me she couldn't get me in before then and that whenever I could get an appt, I could pay an additional $25 since my Groupon would be expired or she could try to get me in for a manicure OR pedicure, whichever I wanted more. I explained that I would like to get a manicure AND pedicure without having to pay extra since that is what I got the Groupon for. At the very least, I expected my "expiration date" to be extended because I tried to make an appt for 7 months.
I spoke with the manager and she said they had 100 people trying to get an appt at the last minute. First of all, it was not last minute! I had been trying for 7 months! Secondly, they shouldn't offer Groupons if they can't fulfill them. And guess what, they're still selling Groupons and they can't even service the current ones they've sold! I called Groupon to get a refund. Not surprisingly, they said they had several complaints on this business and were looking into it. It seems as though they are selling Groupons only as a way to charge people extra to get what they already purchased.
If you get a Groupon, I would suggest to get one to the Ritz Salon. Ask for Carol. She takes a minute to warm up, but she comes around and does an EXCELLENT job! It is a cozy little place, but I didn't have a bit of trouble getting an appt there.
DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I bought a Groupon for my engagement photos in March 2012 and began calling as soon as I purchased it. After calling and leaving over 5 voicemails, I finally received a return call. They told me that it would be over 2 weeks before they could book me. I said okay, went somewhere else and then began calling again in November 2012. I tried emailing, booking through their online service, and calling. I received no response. Then, in February 2013 I began calling again. After leaving over 10 voicemails, 8 attempts to book online, and countless emails with only a response in March 2012 (telling me no appointments were available), I decided to ask for a refund from Groupon. DO NOT BUY THE GROUPON - or otherwise go here - IT IS NOT WORTH THE WASTE OF TIME!
DON' DO IT!!! If I could give no stars I would and I have NEVER given anyone a one star in a review.
I didn't even make it to the salon, but had the most ridiculous and horrible treatment by the staff when I attempted to make an appointment. I am still shocked by the conversation... and that a place of business would be so rude to potential customers. They obviously don't need the business if they can treat people as I was treated!
I got a groupon for the salon for a manicure and pedicure for myself and a friend. I called and said that I wanted to make an appointment for myself and a friend on a Saturday. I was told very matter-of-factly that the only appointment (for only one person) was a few weeks out on a Tuesday at 6pm. So, okay, I tried to explain that I would like a Saturday appointment for my friend and would schedule further out and was told "That is not going to happen". Again, very rudely. I am trying to understand what she means, and I am finally told that they were overwhelmed by people "last minute" trying to get in on their groupons (with the impression that this was very bothersome). Her tone was so condescending and well, really hateful, and she wasn't providing me any direction as to what I could do with my groupons. I just bought these groupons, I wasn't one of the last minute customers she was complaining about, and I started getting tired at this point of being talked to so rudely, so I asked her to please change her tone with me.
That was the wrong thing to do. She started yelling at me, and told me that wasn't going to get me anywhere, and that I should get my groupon refunded. WoW! I guess they are just used to treating their customers like crap and didn't like it when someone stood up for themselves! I stated to her that I worked in customer service and that the way she was speaking to me was really not okay, and I asked for her name.
She slammed the phone down. What an unreal experience! Worst ever customer service! I sat there looking at my phone for a minute thinking....did that whole experience really happen??? I called excited to try a new place with my friend and was left upset and maltreated.
I did take her advice and get my groupon refunded. Groupon is awesome. After trying to call the next day with no answer, I also emailed the salon - I thought they should know how their staff person was talking to customers, and guess what! They were aware and completely condoned it! I got this email back from Donna Ray at the salon:
"I recall this conversation because I was here and you were on our speaker phone. As I recall, YOU were very rude to my staff and she was polite as long as possible with you. We close at 6:00pm, therefore, she attempted to assist you after hours only to be spoke to as if she were beneath you in some way. I hope Groupon refunded your money, as we don't care to service those with such rudeness as you expressed to my staff. Good luck in your hunt for a manicurist".
First of all, what kind of place puts customers on speaker when they call for an appointment? Now I absolutely admit that I did get firm finally at the end when I was asking her to stop talking to me the way she was, but I was absolutely not rude, nor did I speak to her as suggested. Luckily, I do already have a place where I regularly get my nails done, I was just trying to use a groupon and try out a new place.
I should have looked at the other poor reviews and other peoples bad experiences before buying the groupon. Lesson learned.
A terrible experience! Donna ruined my nails when I got a gel manicure, she filed them paper thin and they broke off. The small space was not very clean and I would not even use the bathroom because it was so dirty. Definitely would NOT recommend.
THE place in Nashville to get your nails done. 2 thumbs up!
Studio 21 is the best salon in downtown Nashville! Great customer service, I can be in and out within my lunch break, and have the best looking nails in Nashville! I highly recommend Studio 21!
