Stephanie 79,, not the same Cherokee S.H. I know – Stephanie 79 must not have eaten at the same Cheerokee Steak House the we and many of our friends have eaten at. I would think Stephanie 79 is not a very nice person. I have eaten in every major city in the U.S and Europe. No, it is not The Stock Yard, Ruth's Chris, Jimmy Kelly's, or Mortons. It is close by, the food is above the price you pay for it, and the service is always fast and friendly. Did Stephanie try to walk out with Paying...??
THIS PLACE SUCKSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN SERVICE SUCK WALK IN AND YOU SEE HOST PLAYING ON HER CELL PHONE, AND TALKING ABOUT ANOTHER EMPLOYEE W/BAD ENGLISH GRAMMER. WHEN YOU THINK SOME STEAK HOUSE & MARINA YOU THINK OF TAKING YOUR SPOUSE TO A NICE PLACE AND RELAXING BY THE LAKE, AND PLEASANT EVENING NOT WHEN WE WENT THERE....I EVEN ASK THE MANGER WHAT THE DEAL WAS....WHEN YOU DRIVE UP TO PARK YOU HAVE A TRAILER PARK W/TRASH ALL ON THE OUTSIDE OF THERE NASTY TRAILERS...WHAT IS UP WITH THAT??????? WHEN YOU SIT DOWN TO EAT THE YOU CAN TELL NO ONE CLEANS THE WINDOW I ASKED FOR A CLEAN BOTTLE OF STEAK SAUCE WHEN I PICKED UP THE STEAK SAUCE IT HAD THE SAUCE ALL OVER THE BOTTLE THE SERVER WAS RUDE.....I ASKED ONE EMPLOYEE IF THEY ARE ALWAYS MAD AND SHE SAID YES YOUR OWN EMPLOYEES DON'T EVEN LIKE BEING IN THERE.....WOW WHAT A NASTY, GHETTO, AND WHITE TRASH PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO.
Cherokee has its own unique set of attributes – If you are looking for a steakhouse off the beaten path with great atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, country hospitality and a consistently decent steak, Cherokee is the place for you. If you are looking for a spectacular culinary experience, then you will be disappointed. I grew up right down the road from Cherokee. When I was growing up, I remember a meal at Cherokee was a special and rare treat. If you are a boater, then going to have a steak dinner by boat is guaranteed to make for a memorable evening.
You will certainly not get the quality of steak that you will get at somewhere like Ruth Chris or Fleming's, but Cherokee certainly has earned it's place among the Nashville area steakhouses because of its other attributes it has to offer.
Cherokee Steak House & Marina – My husband and I went to Cherokee Steak house & Marina last night and we thought it was excellent. We had heard good and bad reviews. My husband is a culinary student and we know good food.
I ordered fried mushrooms and we each had a salad with our jumbo shrimp and baked potato. They had wonderful homemade yeast rolls.
The waitress was so friendly and the atmosphere down by the boat dock is great. Take bread with you to feed the ducks. I think you should try it. You wont be disappointed!
Don't even waste your money!!!!!!! – My family and I dined at Cherokee Steak House last weekend, and the food was absolutely horrible. There were 11 of us, and noone enjoyed their meal. Every single steak was not properly cooked, and we had to wait 90 minutes for a table. Honestly, for almost $300 you can get such a better meal. In the day, this was the only decent steakhouse in the area, but those days are gone. I wish they could get their quality back, but time after time we seem to be dissapointed. The restaurant is close by, and we always try to give it another shot, but we will not anymore. Also, there was a waitress that was very rude and you could tell she had no class the way she was speaking to a friend in the dining area. Do not waste your money.
NOT THE BEST!!!!!!! – I dined at Cherokee Steak House last week, and was very pleased with the wait for we got right in. The service at Cherokee was remarkable, but the food was horrible! I ordered the pasta dish, and the noodles were obviously not fresh as well as the chicken was dry and tough. My husband always orders the filet along with lobster, but lobster was rubbery and steak was fatty. The couple with us had o.k. food, but said they will not be back, for the choices in the area are far better quality food for the price. Onion rings are out of this world, but that's about it.
Not very impressed. – My family and I recently ate dinner at Cherokee Steak House. The wait was almost 2 hours, and by the time we had sit down to order, the waitress proceeded to tell us they were out of 5 different items on the menu we always get. We overlooked the problem and ordered something else. The food wasn't warm when it arrived and steaks were overcooked. The waitress was very nice and discounted the bill even though we ate most of it. Service is excellent but they need to step it up when it comes to food quality for the price.
GREAT STEAK ON THE LAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THESE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN GOOD FOR YEARS, STILL JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!! BILL IS TO STEAKS WHAT HIS BROTHER AND NEPHEW ARE TO CAR SALES, JUST THE VERY BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great Steaks!!!! – It has the best atmosphere!!! It is right on the lake, so bring your bread they have lots of hungry ducks. It is B.Y.O.B. That makes it great as well because you can have your favorite drink.
Nothing like a good steak and the feeling of being in a mid-'70s clubhouse dining room in Middle America.
– The Scene
Neither pretentious nor homogenized, the Cherokee Steak House has been homey and friendly since the late '50s, and it still has that faux flagstone carpeting. On the banks of Old Hickory Lake, the property is also home to resort cabins from its heyday and a marina with ample dock space for boaters.
This beef is the stuff of legends, full of flavor and marbled to keep the cuts moist and tender. Fans of filet should order the 6-oz petite version. Although the Cherokee Chief cut is larger, it's a little too marinated in a worcestershire-type sauce. The 10-oz Queen New York Strip is also marinated but has a much more subtle flavor. One of the best bargains on the menu is the platter of sirloins that you can order for two, three or four. Cherokee also offers a tasty blackened catfish and grouper, as well as turf's partner, lobster tail.
