I recently bought a dining room set from the Ashley Furniture Home Store. The salesman was informed and pleasant. I got a great price, and while I was told it might be four weeks before my furniture arrived. It was in my house in two weeks. My shopping experience was great. Thanks, Ashley! William 5 stars
Never again – It has taken nearly 7 months since I placed my order with Ashley Furniture for a bedroom set for the order to be completed. Initially, we ordered a dresser, nightstand, bed frame and drawers to fit under the frame. When the pieces were delivered several weeks later (pieces are made as they are ordered, not stored in a warehouse somewhere), the drawers were broken, which didn?t really matter as the clerk who helped us apparently didn?t realize that the drawers didn?t fit under the style of bed we chose. So, back into the truck with the broken drawers, and as it was a ?rookie clerk? mistake the bed that would fit the drawers was ordered.
On initial delivery, the dresser was dinged with some of the finish removed, so we were told that someone would be calling to schedule that repair. It took me several calls to ultimately get the repair scheduled, and unfortunately the person who repaired the dresser covered the chip in the white paint with off white paint. To make matters worse, they tried to cover up the mistake by spraying random other off white spots on the dresser. I guess the theory was that it would look like we bought it that way. Apparently the tech didn?t turn around and look at the matching nightstand and bed that had absolutely no off white spots. Totally obvious.
The new bed arrived (and again, this is another 4 hour block of time that one of us had to be at the house: so far we?re up to 3 ? initial delivery, bed re-delivery, repair) without incident. I call to complain to the warehouse about the junky repair on the dresser and never hear a word. After repeated calls, I?m told that a new dresser had been ordered (and the clerk made it sound like I should have known, but if no one tells you, I?m not sure how you?re supposed to know.). The drawers are delivered. Again, they are broken. No one apparently checks these things before loading them in the truck. 6 weeks later, drawers are delivered again. Again, they are broken. 6 weeks later another set of drawers are delivered. Almost hysterically, again, they are broken. The delivery guy notes that the main warehouse in some other city has probably been trying to repair the same set of broken drawers. We write on the ticket ?delivery refused, we want new drawers not repaired drawers.? I call the warehouse on Monday. Supposedly this order has been placed.
I hear nothing for weeks, and go into the store personally to complain (time number 2 for in person). Noting, interestingly, that of the three registers they have up front, at this visit, all three of them have an upset customer. Each time I call or go in I have to tell the whole story because the ticket on their computer looks totally messed up by now. Someone does refund my delivery fee, finally. I was offered in store credit worth more than the delivery, but at this point would rather cut off my hand than start a new process with Ashley. The new dresser arrives. They offer to schedule delivery. We?d rathe
Simply the BEST Choice in Furniture in Nashville – It's been a little over a year since I made a major purchase at Ashley, and my two piece leather sectional still looks as good as it did the day I received delivery. I haven't needed any new furniture since then, but that hasn't stopped me from stopping in to check out the great new Items they have in. I always seem to find an Accessory that I JUST can't live without. The Staff is always friendly and it is almost as if I knew them all personally! I'm about to redo my Bed Room, and Ashley will certainly be my First and Last Stop. I haven't found prices these good anywhere in town!
DON"T SHOP HERE – This store is awful. We were fine through the decision making process with our sales person and he told us everything we wanted to hear. Once we paid and our money was gone and the deal is done - that's when they tell you about the 2-4 week delivery timeframe and also that there is a 30% restocking fee if you cancel. They aren't very customer service oriented and it seems like they are trying to pull a fast one! We finally made enough stink to have them cancel our order and went across the road to a store that was VERY customer service oriented.
Bad Delivery Service – Friday August 31st 2009
To whom it may concern,
Two months ago, we had ordered furniture for our daughter to be delivered on August 27th 2009. My wife contacted “Neil” last week and he said everything is fine and that takes good care of his customers. Yesterday we were told that due to a bed rail and mirror not present, it would be next Wednesday until the furniture would come. (Bed, dresser, sofa, chair, dinning room table)
THIS IS TOTALLY UN ACCEPTABLE! WHAT DOES MY DAUGHTER FOR ALMOST A WEEK WITH NO FURNITURE?
Even though the people we talked with were nice and professional(except the warehouse guy), it is your responsibility to see the costumer is satisfied and if there is a problem, it should be resolved in the quickest way. This is obviously not high on your priority for the following reason:
We asked you if you could go ahead and deliver what you have. You said NO; company policy says all must be delivered.
Then we ask if what you had could be picked up. You said it could with a 48 hour notice.
This tells that when there is a problem you are in flexible and unwilling to help or improve the situation. You were not ready to deliver. Ashley Furniture does not hold their customers well being as a top priority.
I’m astonished that your company would let a person be in their apartment for almost week with no furniture when everything should have been ready. There is no excuse for this lack of professionalism
.In my opinion, you should do whatever it takes to make the customers satisfied regardless if it causes you an inconvenience.
