Product Pushers!!.
My first and last experience was with Jon herself! She told me my hair was damaged, cut off 1/8 an inch all over and sold me $100 in magic products to make me love my hair. I really wanted a cute haircut. Jon, the owner, said I would love my hair after it was healthy. I didn't. She offered to "take more hair out" - which made me think of the cook spitting on the steak I sent back. I asked for my $50 I spent on the haircut back. No dice there either. If you want to spend a bunch of money to smell like Aveda - go for it. If you want a good haircut, by pass Jon Alan.

another real person, at last!.
I have been to this salon many times, and the only reason I go back is my hair stylist Whitney. She gives me the best haircuts ever and isn't afraid to be a bit edgy. Other than that, I find the salon over the top robotic and corporate. I am usually ushered through what feels like a set program of offerings: beverage, robe, massage, etc.etc. It feels mechanical and forced... but once I'm in Whitney;s chair, the magic begins. She is creative and authentic! If you want a genuinely good haircut- see Whitney. Just know that you will encounter stuffy people at the front desk who read scripts to interact with you. HOWEVER, On my visit last week, I was refreshingly greeted by a new face. She was warm, real, and genuine. She asked me about the weather, if I had plans for the weekend, and complimented me on my glass frames. It felt like she was welcoming me into her own home, and not a corporate office. She came to check on me a few times during my appointment, easily joking with Whitney, and offering everyone in the room a smile and warmth. Whitney told me she was a new manager named Kate and had a more relaxed approach. Thank goodness! When I checked out, I didn't feel like she read me a script. I am so glad to know that there is another real human being at the salon who will hopefully be working each time I am there. See Whitney for a good haircut, and make sure to drink the free wine they offer, so you can have a shot at relaxing in a uptight, ususally stressful environment.
