Franklin >Carothers Auto Repair Service
Fixed & On the Road.
I've had a few repairs at Ted's Auto, mostly small stuff... lights, brakes, and such, and they've always treated me right, courtesous and fast. Ted has been telling me for a while, that I need to service my van. Well... after returning from an out-of-town trip with my family where we experienced some more severe problems with our van, I really dreaded the expected cost of repair my procrastination might have caused.
"Limped" the van over to the shop, and dropped the keys off in their night-drop (which is very convenient) and scooted on to work. About 3 hrs later Ted called me and gave me the news. I was fortunate he said, My service + a new ignition coil, and I would be back on the road. Less than 400.00 and 2hours later,I was ready to roll!! (The closest priced competitor was more than 90.00 more expensive.) Thanks, Ted, you guys treated me right, and I appreciate your good work. Keep it up!
A real mechanic..
As a woman I feel that every time I go to a mechanics shop, I get marked as an "easy" target. I have been to quite a few shops in Nashville & Franklin, TN and with few exceptions this has happened. I schedule an appointment for service and get back a laundry list of "needed repairs". A girlfriend of mine said I should try Ted's shop, she has had good experiences with them. So I drove my Toyota in to them for what I thought was a tune up. I told the mechanic at the counter about my problem and he said he would check my car over & someone would call me to let me know what they recommended. About an hour later I got a call and was told they had my car ready. I was immediatley worried as I had not authorized any kind of repair to be made, and when I asked Ted on the phone what was done, he said they replaced some vacuum hoses that were cracked. I asked him what I owed him, and he said pay for the hoses and that would be it. WOW!
I asked Ted after picking up my car, why he would replace the hoses without calling me and he said he wanted to make sure that was the only problem, before calling me. I told him I appreciate his integrity as he could have told me any number of things were wrong and with a reasonable explanation I probably would have bought it, but he didn't do that. He fixed what needed to be fixed, and checked to make sure that was what I needed. I now have a real mechanic!
GREAT SERVICE _ HONEST AND FAIR.. Easy going and well mannered. I've lived in Middle Tennessee most of my life, and do a lotta business in the Franklin area.Never knew about Ted's until I had my pickup truck throw belt while driving into town. I was able to make it to a nearby service station, and saw the sign for Ted's. Thought "Well how about that!". Coasted my truckdown the hill toTed's and after looking under the hood with me for a couple of minutes, Ted told me I was gonna need a new belt and pulley. An hour later they had me on the road again, and for a decent price too! Next time I need a repair, I'll be using these guys.
