Extraordinary Salads! – I stopped by Pie in the Sky today for lunch. I had heard from a friend that they rolled out new salads recently. I was blown away by how fresh my salad was!
I ordered the Spinach and Walnut salad. It comes with a delectable honey citrus vinaigrette, which perfectly compliments the fresh oranges, mangos, and pineapple that sit on top of the baby spinach. The salad is finished off with creamy goat's milk cheese and homemade candied walnuts. Talk about a burst of flavor! This was just one of the many salad options on the menu.
I think I have found my new lunch spot!
Pizza-riffic! – By far, Pie in the Sky takes the slice when it comes to the best pizza Nashville has to offer. I just can't seem to get enough. The variety in the toppings provides versatile options. I switch it up every time I eat there. Sometimes I create my own masterpiece, but most of the time I switch around between the specialty pieces. I think my favorite so far is the Pie in the Sky. It's HUGE! The thing is topped with a mountain of 12 toppings with 2 layers of sauce and 3 layers of cheese. Talk about a big bite! Pie in the Sky Pizza is top notch.
Wings and 2 for 1 beers!! – I ate at Pie in the Sky last night with a buddy. The wings rocked. Plus they have 2 for the price of one draft beer ALL THE TIME. Not just during happy hour. I couldn't decide on which flavor of wings I wanted to eat so, we ordered their wing sampler. The sauce comes on the side and you are able to dip 20 wings in the various sauces. Now that's what I'm talking about! The people were cool. I really like this place.
Excellent! – My family and I recently ate at Pie in the Sky Pizza at Lenox Village and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious. You could smell it from the moment you walked in the door. The staff was so friendly and very quick with service. The location is convenient and easy to find. The layout was great, allowing an upper bar area for adult patrons, a covered patio, and comfortable seats inside.
I loved the kids dough bar set up. My children were able to play with their own piece of pizza dough while watching the kitchen staff make our pizza.
I have a feeling we are going to become regulars!
metal pieces in appetizer & AWFUL management. – I have gone to Pie in the Sky many times and had a decent experience, but yesterday I had one of the worst dining experiences EVER at the Lenox Village Pie in the Sky.
I called ahead with a large party the day before and was told that if I got there a little early, they could seat us on the patio and that it wouldn't be a problem. I knew it was a busy night for them which is why I made sure I called ahead.
When I arrived, I was told by the manager that I was not a "priority reservation" and that the person who took my reservation should not have accepted it and that they did not have my information to call me about it. I understand it being busy, but since they DID take my reservation, they should have accommodated us and not been so rude. The manager, Mary Lou, was extremely unhelpful, blaming it all on the hostess who was doing everything she could to help us out.
Most of our party had arrived by then so we chose to put some tables together inside so we could sit down, rather than leave--although I later wish that we had just left immediately without eating.
We ordered several appetizers and when one of my guests was eating the spinach and artichoke dip she found a 2.5-inch piece of metal brillo pad in it. It was halfway down her throat and she was choking before she realized what it was. She alerted the waitress, but never did a manager come over and apologize or speak to the person who nearly choked. The appetizer was taken off the bill, but no apology of any kind was made. Imagine if my friend had swallowed that piece of metal--the health risks are daunting to consider.
I am usually a very understanding person and have never complained about a restaurant experience in the past, but I truly feel that my guests and I were mistreated this time. I also recognize that mistakes happen, but what incenses me was the overall attitude and demeanor of the manager. For her to say to my face that I was not a priority customer and then to not even apologize when a piece of METAL was found in one of their dishes is absolutely unacceptable. The restaurant business is all about service, and I will NEVER set foot in this business again, nor will any of the people who were with me, and I hope that if you are reading this, you do not either.
