Horrible Customer Service. Horrible experience. Do not go there with a group. The tip is automatically included if you have a large enough party at 20% which basically means that our server did not even attempt to be a good waiter. It was the longest, most frustrating meal I've had in quite sometime. The venue is nice, but the food is not worth waiting 45 minutes to have your drink order taken. It seem they are resting on the cache of their location, style etc. and not making the slightest attempt to be good to their patrons. I will not be going back.

Grossly overrated. Pros: The old, industrial setting is pretty cool, I'll admit.

Cons: Just about everything else.

Food: Decent, but not worth the money and way to salty. My girlfriend could have cooked it better for about 1/3 the price. That said, I understand that going out to eat, the purpose is to have the food cooked for you, served to you and treated like a patron and you pay extra for that service. However, if I am paying that much for only decent food, I better be getting impeccable service...

Service: Absolutely horrendous. Waited 45 minutes before the server even took our drink order. After that it took almost 30 minutes to get our drinks. If we weren't there with a group, we would have walked out. The server did not know anything about what the bar served. I asked if they had a certain type of whiskey and he had no idea, offered to get me a whiskey list which I considered, then just ordered a Jack Daniels neat because I realized it would be another 30 minutes before he actually got the whiskey list to me. I was served a Jack on the rocks which I had to correct. After all of this I was so frustrated that I just wanted to eat and leave.

Our server even got the splitting of the checks wrong. I was overcharged for a horrible experience. Expensive lesson but one well worth learning...

Needless to say, I'll never be visiting there again. City House really needs to step it up. I don't care how local, organic or amazing your food is, if your service is that bad, something needs to be addressed, especially if your food is not even that good.

I've had better service at a Taco Bell...

food not that great. I had heard the food at City House was really good from a friend so, I decided to check it out. I ordered the Margherita pizza which was probably one of the worst pizzas I have ever eaten. First of all, the pizza came out burned on the bottom which I sent back. But, the second pizza was just as bad. It was not burned but, the sauce was bland and there was no fresh basil or tomatoes on it. Also, the crust was dripping in what I assumed was olive oil. My friend had the trout which was not that great either. The fish was so overpowered by lemon juice that it left a bad aftertaste. This is a cool hangout place but I will never eat there again.
