Great Food and Lots of options
by jjsketch at Citysearch
This place is awesome- it has fantastic food and is a great place to hang out with your friends. They also make fantastic coffee beverages and hot chocolate (surprising, since it's not something they are known for)
If you go there for breakfast, you have to try the eggs Benedict because they are out of this world. They also have waffles, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, and most breakfast entrees come with your choice of orange or apple juice.
I could write an essay about their lunch and dinner menus. The *best* chicken pot pie in Murfreesboro- it is huge and has a delicious, flaky crust. I have eaten here several times and have yet to be disappointed. Mimi's also has seasonal entrees which they change every few months so you never get tired of eating there. Check them out- you won't regret it!
- Pros: food;atmosphere;breakfast
- Cons: only serves breakfast until 4 pm
Overpriced, greasy food!
by bleehedingart at Citysearch
I went here after seeing their spinach artichoke dip featured on Food Network. I was extremely dissapointed in the dip as well as my meal. Nothing looked, smelled, or tasted apetizing. It was all a greasy mess. Too much cheese, oil, and fat, and very lacking in flavor. On top of that our waitress was very inattentive. We sat trying to get her attention for a very long time before we were able to order, before we got the check, before she picked up the check, etc.
The only good thing we had was the muffins. We will not be going back unless we just get a muffin and nothing else.
- Pros: Nice decor, great muffins
- Cons: slow service, heavy greasy food, overpriced
Good "Cajun" food
by FreakyFoodie at Citysearch
I have been to Mimi's several times, and I leave happy every time. The decor is fun and relaxing. It claims to be Cajun, but come on. I haven't had real Cajun cooking in Nashville save for my uncle's kitchen. It is more Cajun-inspired. Great but not Cajun.
I love the sweet breads that come before your meal. My favorite entree so far is the veggie ciabatta. It was packed to the gills with zucs, squash, onion, peppers, and pesto. I really liked that it had pesto instead of some weird mayo. It wasn't drowned in cheese either. I have also had a couple pasta dishes. Good, but nothing that wowed me.
Kids meals are fabulous. I got my daughter the soup and salad from the kids menu. She got french onion soup, a side salad, and whole wedges of melons and fresh pineapple. That would have been plenty for me.
Their desserts are good as well. I have a thing about bread pudding, and theirs was the best I've tasted in a restaurant.
- Pros: great variety, fun atmosphere
- Cons: a little pricey
