Excellent, authentic Korean cuisine
by nudels at Citysearch
This is an excellent, but not terrific, Korean restaurant. Its specialty is the famous Korean bbq, which can be cooked in front of you, and eaten wrapped in a romaine lettuce. All the other dishes I've tried are excellent as well. But like all Korean restaurants, the emphasis is on AUTHENTIC. So if your idea of "authentic" is what passes for Chinese food in Nashville, this place may not be your cup of tea. But if you are looking for an authentic culinary experience, like one you might get in Seoul, or even LA, this place is for you.
It's no bulgogi!
by Ruland at Citysearch
In a city where good ethnic food often means sacrificing ambiance, Seoul Garden is a rare find. We used to make the trek to Madison to get our Korean bbq fix at Koreana, but now we wish we had found Seoul Garden sooner.
The atmosphere is simple, but tasteful and elegant. The steamed dumplings were excellent -- it was clear that they were made in house. From the regular menu, the seafood and onion pancake was delicious; but, it was a bit of an indulgence since it was clear they did not skimp on the oil that gave it that perfect crispness. It could easily be a small meal for two on its own.
But, the stand out was the barbecue. You can grill it yourself if you luck into one of the grill tables. The meat (we ordered beef bulgogi and ribs) was marinated to perfection and extremely tender (try not to overcook it).
They also have private Karaoke rooms and it sounded like we were missing out on a lot of fun. I think I know where my next birthday will be!
